I'm reading it now. So far it's pretty good. I'm on chapter 9 I think. I'll post a report when I get finished.

I Loved the book!

Post by Momshell »

I read the book in three days. I loved it. His relaxed vision of life is captured by Tully Mars in his barefoot adventures in beaches, bars, bonefishing, and boating. I love the descriptions of the Out Islands and Mexico- he does a brilliant job capturing them. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys a fun read.

I may be the only one on this board but (as i have posted before) absolutely hated the book. I readily admit I have high standards for writers, sometimes too high maybe, but this just didn't work for me. Maybe I am getting older and a superficial story about "escapism" just doesn't do it for me anymore. But thats just my opinion and if every other person on the planet loves the book, than more power to you!

I read it in 3 days also, and thats says alot because it usually takes me 2 or 3 weeks to get through a book that long. Just couldn't put it down.

For week of Feb 6 (that's what the web site says)
9 A SALTY PIECE OF LAND, by Jimmy Buffett. (Little, Brown, $27.95.) A cowboy's life is changed forever when he meets a 101-year-old woman who hires him to be a lighthouse keeper in the southern Bahamas. 13 8

Jimmy has moved from 13 back up to 9 and it's the 8th week in a row on NYT best seller list.
