The avatar accompanying my post includes John, Jimmy & Steve Goodman.
Dusting off the CD's I haven't listened to in a bit. Time to do my homework.

His last album of all new studio material was Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings in 1995 so his new album (due sometime this year) has been a long time coming. He's one artist that doesn't put an album just because he's obligated to because of a record contract which is also one of the perks of owning your own record company (Oh Boy). I can't wait to hear it.Joni Tyring wrote:He has great music, I have every CD that he has made.
Unless he just came out with one.

For me to venture forth into one of those places it has to be someone I really wanna see. Someone asked the other day why I don't go see Buffett any more and is among the many reasons why. Guess I'm one of those that's holding out on that long promised theater tour. It may or may not ever happen but that's ok, I've done my time in the mega-domes.

John Prine usually plays The Florida Theatre in Jax. A wonderful old theatre, that has been renovated. Small, wonderful acoustics and not a bad seat in the house.
I have seen John Prine there 4 times...The Pretenders, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Melissa Ethridge, BB King......I am sure there are more, just can't think of them right now. OH! Keb Mo....(If you get a chance, go see him...just awesome!)
I prefer the small venue. It is more personal...
Leon Redbone is playing there the same night Jimmy is playing in Jacksonville....Might make it since I am going to Tampa....
