Live in Hawaii

Post by Ilph »

Did anyone else ever catch on there, Jimmy says something to the effect of "We've got star songs, Southern Cross is coming up later" and then Southern Cross wasn't included on the CD? :-?

I certainly did. But, SGH and I actually got to SEE the Southern Cross come up later that night, so it's okay with me that the song wasn't on the CD. Haven't watched the video yet. Is it on there?

One year ago today, SGH and I were on Maui . . . We had seen the Waikiki show, flown back to Maui and were just waiting for the show the next day. *Sigh*

The DVD included with that album? Nope. No Southern Cross there.

I'm sure they had to cut something. . . and the quip about the real palm trees, trade winds, and Orion also had the Southern Cross mention. The other stuff was TOO good to cut. . . becuase Maui was the most perfect Buffett show I've ever seen . . . and that comment set the tone for the entire night. ORION was over to our right. And the palm trees WERE swaying in the trade winds. . .we could see them. And there was a 1/2 moon directly overhead when the show started.

OMG.......... I WANNA GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see it, smell it, feel it, hear it.... Jimmy mentioned Orion... ETP and I had already spotted it.... we yelled and pointed up to where Orion was hanging in the sky.... Jimmy heard us and smiled.... (intermission.... "Charleston, see those two? Keep an eye on 'em....") :P

And then, the pick LANDED on my arm.

SGH's first response was: "Jimmy's DNA is on that pick."

And, Charleston was busy with those three young girls, remember?
