Wouldn't it be great if phjim dedicated a wing of his web site to you and your dumb posts? You know like he did for all the Kenny Chesney crap. Course you'd probably be the only one in there.

I'm just goofin' on ya there big guy. I know someone somewhere must be interested in your stuff. Right...? :-?

iuparrothead wrote:Ugh... I know I've had this stupid argument before... but here we go again.... I went back 10 pages and counted approx. 34 threads you've started, Jah. (and the majority of them have 0-1 responses, which is an indicator that not as many people are into the topics you are as you think!!! ) Now admittedly, I've actually productively participated in some of them. I like the end of the year best album lists, etc. But I can pretty much predict that at least every other day we're going to be subject to endless stream of threads devoted to Jah's favorite music topics.

Dude! I have very eclectic music tastes like you obviously do... as do most people here. And hell, I share some of your musical tastes. And I go to a lot of the same websites to read about music news that you do. But, you know what... because I really dig Wilco, I find a way to add it to a discussion in an existing thread... or if I find out that there's some tribute to Joe Strummer & the Clash, I don't automatically think... Hey! I need to start a thread about that at Buffettnews!!!

Your thread posting is just OVERKILL... simple as that... you overdue it all... the... time!!! And you do your share of antagonizing, so don't pull the "look who's being a hypocrite now" victim act. Ugh...
Again, changing the subject. The reason I posted in this thread to was to illustrate (and it worked) how unnerving it is when someone else posts in one of my thread for no other reason than to get a rise out of me. Again, I say, if my music thread so offend any of you, do not post in them. Know what happens when you post in them? They go to the top of the page. Have something to add? Fine, do that but don't go complaining about them and then post in them anyway. I'm not sure why none of you seem to get this but no less an authority than the site owner himself said it was ok for me to post music related articles. I know you don't like hearing that but that was the decision made a long time ago. Get over it already. If you don't like 'em, don't read 'em or post in 'em. Hold on a second, now the Olsen twins AND Jacko are on CNN. And Fox... And MSNBC...

Stop giving yourself so much credit. LOOOOOONG before you ever posted here threads went from serious to silly in the drop of a hat. That's one the things that has kept me coming back so long. That is just the way things have happened here for as long as I remember...and hopefully it never changes. Some of the best threads I read are the ones that got silly and took on a life of their own
participated in a few as I recall too :D
Hell I still think of comments about dating a shirt  :D

This isn't about what Jim has "allowed" you to do... it clearly goes beyond that, and if it were that simple, we wouldn't still be having this argument! Of course, you're allowed to post some threads of relevant music news... as I suggested, I enjoy and participate in some. BUT, what you're clearly not getting is that your insistence on post anything and everything you (and many times ONLY you) are even remotely interested in is antagonizing in itself and highly annoying to a multitude of regular posters here... therefore subject to hijacking. Sorry, but not everyone can restrain themselves when there is yet another thread started on an Ozzy box set or Black Crowes reunion!!! :x :x :x If your new threads were posted in a little more moderation... I have a hunch they wouldn't be such the hijacking bait they are now... :-? Just a hunch... but then again... if you want to be stubborn and continue, then I see no reason why we all don't hijack-away!!! :D :D :D
Again, you don't have to read them if you're not interested in them. There are plenty of threads here that don't interest me but (other than this one, which I'm using as an example) I don't go out of my way to post in them. Also, your definition of overdoing it is WAY off. I've posted a grand total of two music news articles today. There's nothing saying I couldn't have posted 19 music articles today and there's also nothing saying you or anyone else has to read them. Scroll past them, don't read them, just as I do the threads that don't interest me. It's really not that difficult.

Isn't it so obvious now that the only reason Joe (a.k.a. Jah-Jah-Fin) posts so much ridiulous nosense is because of all the attention that he gets. Some people think that we're mean and praise Jah-Jah for puttin' up with the abuse. He's nothin' but a masochistic freak show.

There's also nothing saying that I can't post 19 polls worth of useless information, but it still p*** people off and they call me out on it.

And the rules you continuously bring up and are religiously abiding by continue to NOT be the point of my argument/plea. You're not here to make friends, clearly... you're here to unload your wide repetoire of music knowledge and insight into threads... which, in turn, is becoming mind-numbingly annoying. So therefore, I'll be happy to participate in hijacking your threads along with many others, I'm sure. Whine and moan about it, go ahead... your complaining is falling on lots of sets of deaf ears.
