Kenny Chesney's Keg in the Closet Tour

Post by sunseeker »

All I can say is WOW folks. I just got back from the 2nd stop on Kennys college bar tour and what an UNBELIEVABLE performance. First of all the weather is CRAPPY here in G'boro, NC. But he went on with the show.....a show that had at the very maximum about 500 people there. I was within 50 feet of him on a raised platform so as short as I am I could see everything!!! It was unreal.....

The most amazing thing was that he played for FOUR hours non stop...well he did stop once to go and pee....but he asked us no to leave. It was like he was performing for a group of old friends in his back yard. He pulled everybosy and their brother up on stage to sing with him. Girls, guys, roadies, band mates, security guards, well you get the picture...He even called Tim McGraw from his cell phone.....well...he had us nice people give a nice howdy to Tim...well actually his cinversation went something like this..."Hey...yea I'm in NC in a bar...the folks have something to say..." and then he had us shout "F U Tim!" It was quite the moment...he played anything and everything you can think of including songs from the 80's , disco, country, rock...he ran out of songs to play....by the end of the night he was completly trashed but hysterical. HE kept asking us if we wanted to go home.....and you know what our response was.....well he outplayed the birthday gig he played for Sammy Haggar .....he said that was the longest show he had ever played....2 and 1/2 hours long....well he vowed to us to out do that....and he played 4 HOURS!!! I don't think he would have stopped even then if his road manager hadn't been on his case..

I'll share pics when I get them on a disc.....all I can say...is anyone whou doubts Kenny's sincerity to his music is CRAZY. Tonight you could truly see the love he has for what he does and the appreciation he has for his fans....he even ended the show by saying....isn't it great to be alive and to love music....

Well, if there is anywhere in Florida, or Georgia, let me know.....Laura will have to be there!

Tim McGraw and Kenny together was her first concert she went to by herself in her Senior year...

Jimmy was her first , when she was 10....

With your standard 16 gal. keg, there's no room in there for Kenny.. he'll be out by the Fire Island set...

"Part of the fun is no one knowing we're coming until we're right on top of them," admits Chesney. "We only announce these shows 24 or 48 hours ahead...so it's like the kids who're plugged into this music, into their college life are the ones who get to come on down and party with us."

Can't believe I missed the UGA show last year. :o
