NEW BOOKS

Post by okieparrot »

Recently something amazing happened to me. Someone bought me "A Salty Piece of Land" and I promised myself I was going to read it. Being I havent set and read a book in yeeeeaaaarrrrs I knew this wasnt going to be easy but I did and you know what I loved it. The book was good but I really enjoyed the "quiet time." Well I just finished "Where is Joe Merchant" and am fixing to Start "A Pirate Looks at 50" and was looking for any suggestions on what I should read next. :o

I guess before anyone can really answer that one that would really need to know why you liked the book. I mean did you like it and WIJM because of where they were set or just because they were really good books?

I would, however, recommend that you read Tales from Margaritaville. It is a very good book.

Dont Stop the Carnival by Herman Wouk. The book that obviously inspired Jimmy's Musical Play.
Its a fast paced book. The read goes by so fast.

Following the Equator...
And get a glimpse at Jimmy's keet books too. The art work is great!

Amen. This is one of my favorite books. A few other key choices would be "The Sun Also Rises" "A Trip to the Beach" "The Sex Lives of Cannibals" and "Key Weird."

I just finished three of Christopher Moore's books

THE LUST LIZARD OF MELANCHOLY COVE
ISLAND OF THE SEQUINED LOVE NUN
FLUKE

I've never laughed sooooo hard. FLUKE was my favorite because (1) it's set in Maui (2) it's about the "inner" lives of whales and (3) it's just plain funny!!!

Enjoy!

Just finished Don't Stop the Carnival. Great book, I couldn't put it down. One thing though - why did he leave?

If you liked Tully Mars in ASPOL get Tales From Margaritaville. You will have a little more understanding to Tully , Donna, and Mr. Twain.
