THATS RIGHT! Over the last month or so I have been incredibly busy, and you may have noticed me not posting much...Well, that is because I have been frantically working to organize, book, contract, and now promote a Peter Mayer show in my hometown.

Now, because of my work, Peter Mayer will be playing in Columbus on the 24th of March at one of the most beautiful locations we have to offer.

Here is the backround for the show...

I have been biting my tounge for SOOO long just dying to tell you guys this. But, I have been dealing with Peter's booking agent, and many local freinds of Peter's. I wanted to see Peter in Columbus this tour, so I made it happen. 8)

Matt you should see about getting Peter's web site updated, should help with the ticket sales. Let me know if you have any left near the date of the show, I'll buy a couple off of you. I'd buy them now but I'd rather have the house full.

Hey everyone who doesn't want to drive home afterwards. I went to www.priceline.com and put in a price of $45.00 for a 3 1/2star hotel in the downtown area and got it. We are at the Hyatt Regency Col., 350 N High St. Total price is$59.86 w/tax. It is probably about a $5.00-$6.00 cab ride to the concert. I think it might be nice if any BNer's who are going could arrange to sit together, or even share a cab together. PM me if you are interested. I think we should really try to support Matt is his wonderful effort to bring this concert to us. He has worked so hard. Let's make it worth his efforts :) :) :)

Thats right! We were worried about you guys. And it just would not be a Peter Mayer show if y'all werent there! Good that you have tickets in your name now though. Im about 99% certian Ill be at the Dayton show. :D Apparently I cant have them hold tickets in my name, and its supposed to be a small venue. Ill call tommorow and see how many tickets are left, but we're looking at going out and maybe seeing the Air Force Museam before the show. :D

Believe me, it has been such an expereince putting this together, I have loved every minute of it. :D Im so glad to have the opportunity.

Toot a Phlught

Post by coolblueswing »

Cool! I was gonna e-mail him and ask him if we would have a chance to play. I know when you are responsible for putting things together, sometimes your time at the show is limited! But I am really looking forward to it! Tell him the duets need to be simple. I haven't played in a LONG time  , but really want to give it a try. Thanks for the reminder/confirmation.

We (Kevin, me, pholks from the club) are all driving up in my '92 Chevy (beater) station wagon. It doesn't look like much, but it runs great and will hold all of us! Plan to leave Cincy at 4:00pm and it is supposed to be about 1.5 hr drive. Ofcourse, that doesn't account for driving at rush hour, now does it! But, I want to be there early, so we can get good seats! And have time to "Toot a Phlught!" Can't wait Matt! See ya there!!!! :D

WOW!

Post by coolblueswing »

Thank you Matt! What a show last night! I think that is probably the best room I have ever seen PM play. The sound was phenomenal and the setting... the band played in front of a floor to ceiling window that had the most fabulous view of Columbus over the Scioto River with a full moon. Just gorgeous! Ofcourse, there is nothing like seeing Peter, Jim and Scott work their magic on stage, but what a backdrop!

A very special night indeed. Peter did a lot of improvisation at the end of the songs, with some new, slick guitar licks. Chris Walters on keyboards is always a good treat. I still think Peter needs keyboards all the time. Don't get me wrong, they are superb, just the 3 of them, but Chris is the glaze on the donut! He ties the musical package together so nicely. The show started about 7:30 and the boys played until after 10:00. There was a generous intermission, but it's the best show around for $15. I never feel cheated. There was also a very long conga line during "Chain of Love," and we were treated to a "Spare Tire Orchestra" session that included Scott soloing on "All You Need is Love" and an abreviated version of "Schmopie" by Uncle Jim! The best part of the acoustic session was the sound. Even unplugged and across the room, I could still hear every word!

Matt, you are an inspiration to me. I am looking forward to your "How to Bring PM to Your Town Instructions!" Maybe we can all experience the high you had last night! Just remember, if you build it, they will come! :D
