Toyota's answer to the age old question "What could you possibly do to make a Jeep even uglier?"

Possibly, but the new one even has the flare over the rear wheel like the old Thing. Maybe this will help you see the similarity.

They have not set a price yet. Won't be available for a year.

What could you possibly do to make a Jeep reliable?

For some reason I feel like American SUV's and Trucks are just better than their foreign counterparts. I have no basis for this opinion whatsoever I just feel that way.

First, unless you are driving one with independent rear suspension, your just driving a truck with a bed cover.
Second, being on my second Grand Cherokee I would probably have to disagree with you. Unfortunately, my job requires me to call on American manufacturers so the boss says we need to drive American vehicles. The Grand Cherokee was the only one I could get loaded (V8, leather, tow package, etc.) and still be in unrealistic price range set by my company.
If you want to see how the industry perceives the vehciles, look at the resale value of a Toyota compared to a Ford. If I had my way, I would be out in a 2001 4Runner or a new Sequoia.

I used to have an 87 4Runner, that I miss really bad!. Part SUV, part convertible. All fun!
