Grammy Appearance

Post by finsup2k »

Anyone heard whether Jimmy will be performing at this year's Grammy Awards? Last year, they didn't even announce his category, and the show was such a beating...I just don't think I can sit through another one, without good reason.

I have not heard anything but I agree, I can not sit through another show. All of the awards I want to see go like this, "Presented earlier this evening in a previous ceremony."

For the love, who cars about best female pop performance!

Everyday I've been reading about more and more performers being added to the Grammy Awards this year. I'm honestly beginning to wonder how (and if) they're going to be able to fit them all in.

There's no way they'll be able to fit them all in. I may just Tivo the damn thing and go grab a beer during the show. Then, if everyone on BN is talking about the great Buffett appearance, I'll go back and watch it.

By the way, isn't Tivo a great thing? It finds all the Jimmy appearances, no matter how small.

They will fit them all in but cutting out award presentations and just listing them so there are more performances. Gives people less time on stage to receive awards and more time to hear crappy lip synching. :-?

What's really going to be interesting is seeing the Southern Rock tribute. Skynyrd will probably be performing the shortest version of "Freebird" ever, which is fine by me considering "Retchin'" Wilson will be joining them for that number.

Do you think people in the audience will shout "Freebird"  That would be purty funny. I don't think I've ever listened to Ms. Wilson so I don't really have an opinion.

I believe it's spelled "Retchid" Wilson.

I caught the back half of the CMT Insider Grammy preview show last night and I there was a section about how Country seems to get pushed to the side at the Grammy's. I could have sworn I heard the host make a comment about only one Country category being presented during the show (I have no idea which) as evidence of that. I'd bet it's not Jimmy's category. So, I may toss in a tape, but I sure won't bother to watch the whole thing live...although the Grammy's couldn't be nearly as painful as that People's Choice show was. :x

I haven't watched the Grammies in years, and don't think I've missed too much. I don't plan on watching unless Soy Bomb comes back.
