Anybody work for Verizon Wireless?

I am looking for a new job and have talked with Verizon Wireless today. They have me coming in for a test/interview on Monday and I was wondering if anybody on this board worked for them and if there are any "hot topics" that I could bring up in an interview that might help.
It's for a Coordinator Federal Accounts position.

Ask them why they gave up so fast on the direct connect/Walkie-Talkie feature that is making Nextel the best and most popular provider in the country. Then ask them Can you hear me now.

I've got Nextel and I love the direct connect feature, but as far as coverage areas go... Verizon kicks the crap out of Nextel. Well, at least that's the case in the Northeast. This really has nothing to do with the this point of this thread, just thought I'd share my view.

Good luck in your interview tomorrow JM. Maybe bring them a nice, home-made Valentine?

And in the Southeast. Must be why they turned away from direct connect and focused on coverage.

I switched to Nextel a few years ago from the most horrible carrier ever, Cingular. I have noticed that Nextel's coverage is getting better in the Northeast, I used it way up in Maine recently and I was told by a Nextel rep they were putting up mare towers probably BS. Can you hear me know.

Just an update......I got offered the job today and will start the beginning of next month!

Woo-whoo!

No celebrating tonight though.....gotta pass the drug test tomorrow.

Congratulations! Let us know the scoop on the job when you get a chance. Verizon Wireless is pretty big; perhaps other Parrotheads would appreciate your insight.
