Does anyone know of any good restaurants in St Petersburg? We will be going there at the end of April and arent familiar with the area.
I am no longer fighting my inner demons. We are on the same side now.

http://www.stpete-pier.com/ I sort of like Cha Cha Coconuts...one of the better Cuban sandwiches I've had....and it's on top of the Pier so you are overlooking Tampa Bay from about 5 stories up...pretty cool.
Also, it's just a 15 minute drive or so, on Tierra Verde, Billy's Stonecrab (dot com) is very good. There are also a lot of very good eating places along Gulf Blvd/St. Pete Beach area, i.e. Ferg's Beach Shack, Philthy Phils, Crabby Bills has a great Tiki Bar upstairs overlooking the Gulf. The Wharf, Seacritters, (Intracoastal Water Views but great food) Snappers is a little more unique with it's presentations...hmm, let's see, if that doesn't do it for you, there's always IHOP.

You should make a trip up to Tampa and check out Skipper's Smokehouse.. Uncle John's Band (Dead cover band) plays every Thurs... cheap beer.. and the food's not bad either...

Yes, The Hurricane is still there I ate there last month, still good food, and great sunsets.
Also ate at, and agree that Philthy Phil's and Crabby Bill's are good too, not upscale la ti da restaurants, but good.
Also if you want real good pizza I vote for DeLosa's at John's Pass, it's the thin crust, the kind you have to fold in half to eat. We only have thick crust available in our home area. It's the first meal we get when we go to St. Pete's Beach.

Having just spent the weekend at the IRL and being the point boat for the city of St. Pete officials and the mayor...I have a totally new found respect for the city of St. Petersburg. There really are too many quality places to eat, each with its own individual ambiance....can't recommend just one...take it all in...avoid the "chain" types...(and the Hurricane for food, many better places around)mommar wrote:Also, I've heard, but never been to Dan Marino's place at Bay Walk in St. Petersburg. Don't know if it's good or not, just thought I'd throw that out to you, maybe Gulfbreeze can shed some light on this one.
And John's Pass is a should do...very cool...for everything except stuff on the water.....that's where I come in...

The historic Columbia Restaurant (opened 1905) has a location at the St Pete Pier (the large upside down pyramid shaped building on the water)... within a few blocks of your hotel. It offers Spanish / Cuban fare. The original is in Ybor City (EEE-bor) in the Tampa cigar district. It shouldnt be missed and offers spectacular views!

Yes I know of one @ St Pete Beach called Snappers, on Gulf Blvd. You can always stop in at the Don Cesar and sit outside for lunch, its a great hotel and dont forget to drive to Pass a Grill, great little shops and a wonderful beach to see the sunset...have a great timeunclejohn wrote:Does anyone know of any good restaurants in St Petersburg?
