During my recent trip to NYC me and my gf met a couple from Wales who we drank with at a bar late into the night. During the conversation I talked about Sweater Kittens and the guy from Wales had never heard that expression and he loved it. Does anyone have any funny stories about teaching new slang to people?

Apparently you're teaching some new slang to lots of people! I didn't know that either (though I did figure it out after thinking about it for a bit.)

never heard the term with kittens, I've always heard sweater puppies

Puppies are bigger than kittens. Hence, in the South, we call them PUPPIES! Just plain puppies. Prolly 'cause we don't wear sweaters that much!!!!
