Best Concert

Best concert was 2003 at Barstow, Va. Wife and I had not missed a Buffett concert in 13 years and that year we were unable to get tickets prior to the concert. We went to Manassas, Va the day of the concert and could not find any tickets at the usual parrot head pool parties. When we went over to Nissan Pavillon we were directed to a side parking lot, and then had to walk over to the main parking lot. Only tickets we could find was from a scalper and he wanted 200 bucks apiece for them. I like Jimmy but I don't like him that much. About 15 minutes before the concert stated we were passing by the VIP area I overhead someone say to a guy inside the VIP area to hold those tickets while I go find my friends. Well needless say I stopped dead in my tracks. The guy inside the fence looked at me and asked if I needed tickets. I said yes and how much. He replied 60 bucks apiece. I figured they were either fake or he wanted my wife to do kinky things with him for that price. I quess he saw that look on my face and he explained he worked for Nissan and these were some extra tickets and his job was to sell them. We went from not having tickets to pavillon seating in the middle of the pavillon with a great bunch of parrotheads who really knew how to party.

The best concert is always my last one. You never know what the last may be.

I've always wanted to see Jimmy at Waikiki Beach. That would be the ultimate concert for me! The Feeding Frenzy tour stop at Alpine Valley was by far my favorite concert.

the best was back a few years college days at the resturant in new orleans right up by the stage boy was that fun my roommate worked at the sore and knew ahead of time when the tickets would be sold that whole week we went and listned to the band play I don't think we went to class at all I guess that is part of the reason I only went to Loyola for a semester, also the first time I took my Mom or maybe the first time I took my husband they are all great

My favorite was probably the Coconut Telegraph Tour at Minges Coliseum in Greenville, NC. It was before the crowds swelled to the point they have in recent years and you didn't have to spend the entire concert avoiding beach balls, spilled drinks and people singing the wrong lyrics in your ear. Those were the days...

I'm gonna have to go w/ the benefit concert last year at the Breakers in West Palm. Nothing like listening to JB up close and personal--barefeet in the sand. We always have a good time in Pittsburgh though too! 8)

Columbia, this year. Saw Buffett up close at M'ville in N.O. but the set list at Columbia was much better. (It was also my first Buffett show with my fiancee.)

Alpine Valley, 2000.

It was a great show, the parking lot was awesome, and I was in the 2nd row!

Best concert was an afternoon show in Irvine California. Jimmy had Brian Wilson on stage for one of Brian's first times back on stage. I left work early and flew down from NorCal. Took a cab from John Wayne airport to Irvine Meadows, left half of a $50.00 bill with the driver and told him to meet me at the gate at the end of the show, about 7:15pm. My return flight was at 8:05 and I had to be at work the next morning, no excuses!!! The tequila gods smiled at me and I ended up with an 11th row center ticket for face value. The coulple next to me got to talking and could not believe what lengths I went to, to see a JB show. As the encores continued now 7:20 i showed no signs of leaving as I was god's own drunk and a fearless man. The couple said they would drive me back to the airport (out of pity I think). We ran to their car, at 7:30, 10 minutes to get out of that crazy parking lot, arrived at the front of the airport at about 8:02, dashed to the gate only to find the flight had been delayed, mechanical problems. Yes the tequila gods freaking love me.

Margaritaville in New Orleans, standing only, no seats/tables, only 250 people inside, that was almost too much fun.

Columbia, April 2004.

85 degrees, sunny.

Perfect weather, crowd.

Crappy seats, too drunk to care. 8)

Good show......or so I'm told.

Did you find the cabbie on your dash to the car, or at least paid him for the ride there? Otherwise, he got screwed.

Dunno about the best ever concert I've been to, but the setlist @ JAX on Monday was definitely the best I've heard. Without a new album out this year, it makes room for some classics that haven't been played in years.
