I've come up with a great receipe for Cherry Cuba Libre jello shots that taste great and are a bit strong.
Fifth of Barcadi
2 large boxes of cherry jello
2 liter of coke
Follow directions on box but instead of boiling water, boil the coke. After mixing boiling coke and jello, add COLD barcadi (no water at all!) I usually pour mine into the smallest plactic dixie cups I can find. Then let them set in the fridge for a couple of hours. Caution: These are VERY strong! But you can taste almost no rum, so before you know it, you're in happy land.

OH MY GOD!!! I can see it now -- Ohio's getting her Tupperware jello mold ready, heading off with the rest of the girls -- throw in a couple of Lisa's recipes & IS THERE MORE GUARANTEE OF SUMMER FUN THAN THAT?
p.s. Ohio -- are you adding some maraschino cherries or canned mandarin oranges to your mold to make it more colorful?

WD: girlphriend, marschino's are a MUST (they're more phun if you have the ones with stems...but that's another story...) Anybody figure out the Minister's acronyms yet? & another thing-- do you believe that the grocery did NOT have Vienna Sausages!! Now it's a quest! (although they did have 'potted meat product' which just scared the red dots right out of me...I mean, that's the best spin their marketing people could put on it?!?) ^^'s up!!

Pretty frightening -- & since it's been on the shelves forever, one of two things must be true: a) people actually buy 'potted meat'; or b) it's the same two cans in every grocery store in America for endless years (though one's expectation would be they'd have imploded by now).
No, we haven't figured out the acronyms & he's not 'splaining!!!
Again (for like the fifth time, now), have fun, stay safe, take pictures, & TELL US ALL.

Ohio, don't fret...I think that you just have to go to Vienna to get those special sausages. We don't have anything that nice in this country. As for Jello recipes Capt. Toni, The Davis Hillbilly test kitchens are always formulating new recipes for today's on-the-go redneck. Jello is a fun medium for us to work with because of it's simple elegance:
I will give you all a special jello recipe that travels well to the tailgate party...makes a nice desert:
it is called:
Cranberry Jello Tarts
1 package cranberry jello
1 8 0z container of sour cream
chopped walnuts
1 16 oz can of whole cranberry sauce.
Prepare jello using 1 cup of boilig water. Add sour cream, and 1/2 cup walnuts, and 1/2 cup of cranberry sauce. Line cupcake pan with cupcake papers, fill 1/2 full with the mixture. Freeze. This desert can be served frozen....or thawed. It is equally yucky either way so, dig in......
PEACE

Flowery: actually, I went rather extreme this year. I went to a restaurant supply store and bought a pack of what they call 'portion cups' (like what they'll give you salad dressing in...). I got the 2 oz. size and also got the lids for them. Put a bunch of the cups out on a cookie sheet, and concocted the jello. Poured into cups, slid the whole shebang into fridge. (With rum involved, you will WAIT for the jell-ing to happen.) When done, put on lids, put in foil pan (also from supply store, it's what they sell for chafing dish), you can stack them up in there. Put in top of cooler. Go to concert. Share with your nice neighbors.
...I'm livin' on things that excite me...

AND BELIEVE ME, THOSE OHIO JELLO SHOTS WERE POTENT, ALTHOUGH VERY TASTY! I THINK OHIO FERMENTED HER OWN RUM FOR THOSE. MY SISTER AND I GOT TO THE PULL-OFF BY STAR LAKE VEEEERRRRY EARLY, SO OF COURSE WE HAD OURSELVES A FEW CAPTAIN AND COKES, GOING EASY ON THE CAPTAIN SO I COULD FOCUS ON MY DRIVE DOWN TO THE GATE WHEN IT WAS TIME. AFTER WE GOT PARKED IN THE LOT, FOUND OHIO AND SHE BEGAN POURING HER CONCOCTIONS..... AFTER THE 1ST 2 SIPS AND 1 JELLO SHOT, I THOUGHT I'D KEEL OVER FROM THE ALCOHOL CONTENT. IT WAS GOOD I MUST SAY, BUT MY SIZE DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO HOIST DOWN A LOTTA LIQUOR IN ANY GIVEN HOUR OR I MAY GET BIG TIME DRUNK. BUT OHIO HONEY, THEY WERE TASTY NONETHELESS!!
