Not A Fan, But In His Defense
I'm not so sure his "new found" appreciation of a certain lifestyle is all that new. After quite a few years in the record business I can tell you, these guys starting out, do what they are told to do, sing what they are told to sing, look how they are told to look and act how they are told to act. Some years back when a pretty well known country artist (can't say who) was starting out I was driving him back to the hotel after a round of radio interviews. I asked him if he wanted to run by the district office of a major music retail account and shake some hands. He said he would love to, but his cowboy hat was in the bus. He wasn't allowed to appear anywhere as "an artist" without a cowboy hat. Hell, he had it in his contract that he had to tan so many times a week.
KC may be full of it with his island persona, but my guess is it's legit. He just has enough clout now to do what he wants.

Look I'm a little slow today, I just switched to Sanka, so have a heart.

unfortunately there's a lot of people who don't realize what you've just said. If I were an artist I'd do the same thing. I'd dot my i's and cross my t's just the way they wanted me too and then when I had the clout I'd do what I really want to do. KC's not the first one to do it this way and he won't be the last.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

What you are saying is 100 percent TRUE. And you are correct when you sya that he now has the clout to do whatever he wants to do. And what he want s to do is copy Jimmy Buffett.

Yes, I am trying to copy Buffett. But, in the back of my mind there is no hidden agenda such as setting myself up to be the replacement for Buffett.
That is the difference.

Who stop? Me? I don't think so.
It's odd that this is a KC discussion, but it seems that attempts are being made to make it a one sided KC discussion. I have always been respectful to other posters that disagree with me (except for smu#1 who fired a personal insult at me) and I resent being asked not to voice my opinion.
If indeed that is what I am being asked to do.
I will continue to have a voice here at BN and as always I will respect the opinions of others, even the great majority who are wrong.

I am sure.
I would hate to think that the powers that be would choose to boot someone from BN simply because their views were not in line with thier own or other posters. If I was using profanity or constantly insulting other posters then it would be justified. But, that's not me.
Besides, they don't have the ability to boot me from the site. Only the computer / IP address that I have been using. Big difference and easily remided from where I sit.
(That's not a dare or a taunt, just an observation)

Didn't say I did have any ability. You could show some cooth every now and then and quit trying to be an interent tough guy.
If you've already stated that Chesney sucks then so be it but why do you even come in this forum and hardly ever post in a Buffett one?
You're just trying to start trouble and when you post your silly little comments you come accross more like a pirate looking at 12 as opposed to 40.

Yes, You. And others who continue to bicker about Kenny. It's getting old. FAST.Pirate Lookin' at 40 wrote:Who stop? Me? I don't think so.

I didn't ask you to not voice your opinion, but maybe voice it more of a non-sarcastic manner.

Has nothing to do with your views. Just how you continue to post them over and over and over.. This area was started for people to discuss KC in a positive manner. Not slam him. And mind you, I'm not a big fan or hate him.Pirate Lookin' at 40 wrote:I am sure.

And yes, there is the ability.. IP addresses aren't the only way to 'ban' a user.
I just ask.. again and again... If you don't like Kenny Chesney, don't post the negative stuff. We ALL know how you feel.
Thank you.

There's a big difference between a Kenny Chesney discussion and incessant Kenny Chesney bashing.Pirate Lookin' at 40 wrote:Who stop? Me? I don't think so.

Just another example of someone taking a personal shot at me simply because we have differing opinions. I see how it is, everyone has the right to express their opinions as long as they are in agreement with the majority. If not, then express it only once and be done. Whatever.
But, you should know that yesterday for example, I posted not only in the Chesney forum but in the Buffett forum, the off topic forum and a couple of times in the PH forum. I have been posting in all of those forums since my return here a couple of weeks ago. You should do your homework next time.

LeDoux has a song that talks about his not wanting to live in Nashville, that may be the song you speak of.
LeDoux is great. I have several of his CD's and listen to them quite frequently.
