Who is Juan Cadiz?

(I never asked before, but always wondered.)

I had never read Wind from the Carolinas, and just started reading it. In the famiy tree at the beginning of the book, Juan Cadiz married a member of the Cameron family who settled on Exuma.

This is a great book. Is that who Jimmy refers to when he says background vocals by Juan Cadiz on Volcano? He also dedicates SOASOAS album to Juan Cadiz.

Is Juan Cadiz a character in the Robert Wilder book that Jimmy dedicated an album to?
