Appears to be no word yet on the Baltimore/DC metropolitan area.
However (and this is just my speculation) I'm not sure it's looking good for an area appearance. He seems to be doing a "baseball stadium" tour this year. Rumor (and you know what they're worth) last year, when he played Fenway, was that he was also trying to strike a deal with Camden Yards. It ended up falling through.
Given that history, and the fact he's playing two shows just two hours north on I-95 at Citizens Bank Park in Philly (total attendance >80,000), it might be hard to justify anything in DC this year.
I certainly hope I'm wrong. With DC having a ball team this year, it would be cool if he played RFK (although it's not the greatest venue for concerts). Camden Yards would be excellent.

Agreed.
A Baltimore/DC concert no-go is starting to worry me. But this area is huge and could certainly support a show or two regardless of the Philly shows.
The Camden Yards deal fell apart last year due to negoations with Van Halen going so awful. It appeared that there'd be a Van Halen show at the Yards in June or July, but Angelos bungled the contract so bad that VH sued him and Jimmy saw the writing on the wall.
My hope (outside of the Merriweather long shot) is a show at either Fedex Field or the Ravens stadium. RFK would work. The sound is fine and the tailgating is great, but with soccer and baseball being played there, I find it hard to imagine they'd have a concert there was well.
Who knows?

I too was looking forward to Nissan...I have been going to Nissan for the past several years and we just love it there....we love the way it is a more personal concert than a stadium, but I guess we are looking at change....however I think I will have to pass this year.....no stadiums for me...

I would venture to guess he will play Nissan again. I have no "concrete" info though.
Question: "And now Kenny Chesney has recorded a beach album." Jimmy's Answer: "It's flattering. Some people say I should be p*** off about it but I'm really not. It's the highest form of flattery, and I'm fine with it."

I hope your right about Nissan....We have been going there for several years and love it and I personally think it is the only way to see a Buffett show, in a venue like that. I know that a stadium gives more people the opportunity to see the show, but I hate to think of losing the personal feel of the shows and the fun that we have all had over the years.....I will keep my fingers crossed for a Nissan show....

For some reason I think he'll do Nissan; just a feeling. Camden Yards would be too close to Philly.
And the reason the VH/Camden Yards thing fell apart (I think) was there wasn't a market for it. They played 2 shows in Philly (greeted Pierre Robert with a FINS UP on the way out), one in DC, and one in Hershey. They're my favorite band on the planet, but crowds at their shows got smaller as the summer went on (saw 'em in Atlanta, too). Since those negotiations went south, it probably scared Bubba away. It's a shame because he would have filled the place.
And to digress further, Sammy Hagar is trying to become Jimmy. One of his solo tunes in Atlanta was "Tropic of Capricorn" with videos of him and Michael Anthony on the beach.
