My wife and I are in our pre cana group at our church and before and after each talk we will be playing a song. Our talk that we have to give will be about morality (yeah I know). Anyhow, we are having a hard time thinking of 2 songs that have ANYTHING to do with morality. Can anyone think of anything? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

The line, "there's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning" comes to mind!
Also the song, "Coastal Confessions."
Now that I think about it, a lot of Jimmy's songs are really about his trying to do the right thing, but doing the wrong thing, but at least knowing it was wrong and being able to laugh about it.

There are two sides to every coin, and morality is no exception.
How about a "compare and contrast" exercise?
You could begin with "It's My Job" (which I think emphasizes integrity as a moral value)
and close with WDWGDAS (self-explanatory).
just my .02

My condolences. Those were absolutely the 2 most painful evenings of my life. Now way in hell we would have made it through sober...

Everything that I was able to think of wouldnt really be "right" to play at a church function. I guess thats part of the problem, and I could probably think of 100 for all of the other topics. Just the one that we are doing thats the problem! And now its too late to switch topics

You can always change "damn" to "darn" or "pumpkin." Subject-wise, you can't teach about good unless you have something to compare it to.

Mine was like 4 hours a night , for 2 consecutive nights.
Nothing like listening to a speech on the evils of contraception...from a lady with 8 kids...

Piece of Work
All over the map, just a-lost in space
With a filthy mind and a choirboy's face

Give a listen to Peter Mayer's "Musicbox." I can't recall specific lyrics off the top but it has the feel of being right for the occasion. JOHN

It's the classes you have to take to get married in the Catholic church.

The wedding itself ain't no cake-walk either. It's like 5 minutes of vows and 55 minutes of stand-up, sit-down, fight fight fight.

Ummmm. Grapefruit-Juicyfruit
Commit a little mortal sin...it's good for the soul.
There's a reason why I didn't get married in a church.

They have different talks about different topics. Its required by the catholic church that engaged couples either go to a pre cana or they can do a couple to couple ministry and sometimes depending on the priest he will just meet with them. The pre cana day is spent listening to the talks, then the couples spend time together discussing the topics that were talked about. They cover topics like finances, morality, sexuality, etc.

the whole idea of a big ceremony is why I got married in somebody's front yard by a Universal Unitarian minister. "Do ya love each other til ya die?" (Yup) "Will ya look out for each other til ya die?" (YUP). Very good. "Yer hitched. Now let's all go eat, drink, and be merry!"
(OK, it wasn't QUITE that simple, but it WAS quick and painless!)

Well, it's good to talk about these things beforehand. It's good to make sure everyone's on the same page going in. Not being Catholic, this seems kind of formal to me, is all.
