Why all the Ball Parks????
What's with all the new tentative dates being at ball parks?
I am not sure if it will be the same atmosphere in a huge ball park.
Anyone ever been to a buffett concert in a ball park?

I was at Fenway. It was cool because we are big Red Sox fans but it was'nt the best place to see a show. There seemed to be alot of non-parrotheads there because of the venue and size. I assume this will happen if he plays Gillett stadium but at least we can have an awesome tailgate party. I saw the Stone there and I would say it was much better than a show at Fenway. At any stadium I would stay away from seats on the floor.

Higher capacity also means more seats that have no visibility.tequilatom wrote:HIGHER CAPACITY MEANS MORE MONEY AND LESS TRAVEL

HA! With The Rolling Stones and U2 touring this year Jimmy still won't make the money they do. The audience isn't big enough to do an entire stadium tour - especially multiple nights - like the Stones and U2 can do.
So he'll make the money in one night that he could in three nights at a shed. Makes sense. Less shows. Less travel. Less money to put out. I've seen the Stones and U2 in football stadiums and I do agree that the floor, unless you're right up front, it lame. The lower bowl on either side - no way would I sit in the back - is the way to go. You can see and hear everything.
I'm suspicious of the sound for Buffett in a football stadium - I can't imagine a baseball stadium - though. When Jimmy played the New Orleans Arena for his winter Beach House tour the sound was borderline embarrassing - it sounded more like a little boom box than a PA system. The only time I could actually hear what was going on on the stage was when he'd play something unfamiliar (Ringling Ringling and Flesh And Bone for example). Otherwise I was surrounded by a lot of bad singing. I swore to never go to another Buffett arena show unless I was right up front.
He sounds great at Jazz Fest though.

Going back to Irvine would be GREAT!!Capt Garry wrote:In October, Irvine Meadows (he has to go back) and Petco Park in San Diego
but it likely won't happen. He's now getting a larger guaranteed gate fee to play The Pond in Anaheim. If he plays Petco Park instead of Coors Amphitheatre
(which has always been a great time!) I don't know if I'll do it or not.
A huge corporate Buffett concert in big steel and concrete sports buildings just doesn't feel right.
I reserve the right to change my mind once I'd a had a few pops starting RIGHT about NOW! It is 5 o'clock RIGHT HERE!
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!
