Here is the press release for next Monday
Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band
June 26, 2005 - 6:00 PM EST
On Sale March 12, 2005 - 10:00AM
Pittsburgh, PA (March 7, 2005) – Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band will make their Pittsburgh appearance this summer at PNC Park. The date for this grand slam event is Sunday, June 26th, at 6pm. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 12th at 10am at www.Tickets.com or by calling 1-877-848- 4099. Tickets are also on sale at the PNC Park box office on Saturday, March 12th only.
Following the success of his best selling novel, A Salty Piece of Land, and #1 record, License to Chill, Jimmy Buffett makes his always much-anticipated return to the Pittsburgh area. This summer, Buffett will turn PNC Park into a tropical paradise. Buffett concerts are far from the normal show - they are Mardi Gras, New Year’s Eve, and Carnival all wrapped into one spectacular night. Buffett's audience, affectionately called Parrotheads, many of whom are professionals by day, turn into colorful, tropical, outrageously-outfitted characters at night when Jimmy comes to town.
Jimmy's newest CD, License To Chill, which debuted at #1 on both the Pop and Country charts, was the first number one record of his career. The collection, which features duets with some of country’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, George Strait and Martina McBride among others, spent 15 weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country Albums Chart, and has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. Jimmy's newest novel, A Salty Piece Of Land, was released November 30, 2004. The New York Times has said it 'is very possibly Buffett's best work to date.' With Jimmy's three previous No. 1 bestsellers, Tales From Margaritaville, Where Is Joe Merchant? and A Pirate Looks At Fifty, he is one of only six authors in the history of the New York Times Bestseller List to have reached #1 on both their fiction and non-fiction lists. A Salty Piece Of Land has been on the New York Times Bestseller List since its release.
Doors open 4:00 PM
$86.00 and $46.00 reserved each, plus applicable venue and ticket service charges. Buy on-line, phone 877-848-4099 or at the PNC Park box office on March 12 only.
Purchase a copy of #1 best-selling author Jimmy Buffett's latest book 'A Salty Piece of Land'.
Listen to Radio Margaritaville to get in the mood for a great concert at Pittsburgh's PNC Park.

seat prices at venues
I wonder if Jimmy or his mgt will start picking venues that have fewer low priced / lawn seats and go more for the stadium setups... more ticket price variety (more higher priced seats) and more capacity (more revenue)
Something like a limited number of reserve seats and then lawn section? Are those still in the tour...?
I don't know what these various venues are like...
Thoughts?

JB Prices
I have to agree, parting with over $100 for a huge venue is kind of turning me off. I have never been a fan of seeing performances in large venues, if this was his final tour that is something else, but it's a little disappointing to see these steep prices.
I did some calculations and figured out that i could fly to Kew West and spens a 4 day 3 night package for my wife & I for $475. I'll just sit in Margaritaville in KW, drink and have fun.
I'll save my money this year, unless JB decides to play some smaller venues,
sunny regards,
Bill

They did a Pre-Sale for Columbus last year. All they do is charge you more money for the same seats you can buy the next weekend.techista wrote:I've never used tickets.com; what's "pre-sale" mean?

What is the deal with the newbies hijacking this thread all of the sudden.
A. Us posting info about ticket sales isn't going to let any scalpers know about tickets. They already do. We are trying to let other Parrotheads know.
B. With two stadiums not far from each other, there will be tons of room for tailgating. Ever been to a Steeler game?
