I for one am a big fan of this date since I have rooms booked for this date, although the way it sounds, it could be a variety of dates depending on what the city of chicago decides to do about labor day weekend...

At this point, Brian says there is no new info because the date is not booked yet. My "inside source" says it looks like July 30th, but it's not a lock yet. Beyond that, we're all guessing.

Just don't see how July 30th makes any sense, the tour is gonna start in mid June and normally lasts three weeks, it will pick up again at the end of August. Jimmy normally likes to take about six weeks off now in the middle of the summer. With the June date in Pitt confirmed, I have to believe July 9th is the most likely as Alpine will end the first leg of the summer tour.

I don't think there's going to be anything normal or conventional about this tour.

Exactly - there is the possibility that Alpine may not happen (I don't mean to be a downer but there is a chance) :(

July 30th...............ya got it wrong

Post by nabipaul »

To all of you lovely parrot heads out there that booked up all of the rooms at Alpine Valley in East Troy for July 30th...........you may be very disappointed. Jimmy Buffet is not there on July 30th - That is the date for Ozzfest 2005 at Alpine - confirmed by a high level source at Clearchannel. So pleeeeeeeeeeease - as soon as the official announcement is made in the next two weeks - give up the rooms!!! :)

I hope the show for Wrigley gets approved for ya.

Don't see why Jimmy wouldn't play Alpine, it would make no sense not to.

I've been saying for two weeks July 30th ain't gonna happen.

No offense intended here at all, but what makes sense to you isn't necessarily what's going to make the best business decision for JB & his management.

Turning down a guaranteed sellout of 35,000 fans and not playing at Alpine IS bad buisness. Period.
