Take Another Road a/k/a The Pony Song

Post by Goodman »

The above noted thread got me to thinkin of how I played the Off to See Lizard cassette to put my Little Miss Michelle to sleep, back in 1989. Mich was 3 years old at the time. She came to love Take Another Road which she renamed- "The Pony Song". Got to dance to that song with her when she became a Bat Mitzvah in 1999. High point of the party was that dance and that song.
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

Very Nice! I hope my daughter keeps that kind of feeling for her favorite buffett songs! She likes that one and Delaney TAlks to statues.

I love the video too and last year Les surprised me in Key West and took me to the drive in where they filmed it... I had no idea where wewere going and I had to scale a 6 ft fence before I found out - but it was very cool - and the movie shack still stands but it was burned several times - but we managed to take a couple pieces of old tile in all different colors and I hope to make something out of it. It's amazing how music can be such an interesting part of your life!!

Your daughter will probably ALWAYS have that song in her heart bc she put her to sleep with it. That's what it's all about!

Just the other day, I was wondering if "Take Another Road" was influenced in any way by James Taylor's "Sweet Baby James."
"Some people never find it..."
