As Promised: Daniel's Super Duper Bike Week Photos

Post by Lastplaneout »

There are a good bit of pictures here...there's more..I just hate having to resize and upload to imageshack. I might post some more up in the future..but this is it for now. So just clicky the thumbnail and the big nice picture will show up :pirate: At the bottom of the page there are also a few digital vids I took. Only 30 seconds or so per clip. Some have wind noise cuz they are while riding..so just bear with em...turn the volume down if you don't like it . Just a taste of the environment, some florida backwoods scenery and the specacle that is Daytona Beach during Bike Week. To do the clips it's rapidshare (hey it's free) so you have to click the "Free" button and then wait like 30 seconds before you can DL it. It counts down at the bottom of the page. They are all also in AVI format

Well, you managed to get all the unridable trailer queen poser crap. Where are the real bikes - you know, the ones with more than 50 miles on them?

On the contrary..a lot of these bikes you see being ridden during the day. The problem with getting shots of other bikes is the way they are situated. Think of Thousands of bikes lining the sides of the roads all close together...you can't get a good shot...A couple of those are street side..but there's just so many people...and so many bikes and so much traffic a clear shot is just a pain in the tires. You gotta have respect for the "Trailer Queens" anyway. They are the main attractions...you can go anywhere and see a stock Dyna or Softail...so why not appreciate all the hard work that goes into these incredible custom bikes. (which most are for sale as well)

I have no respect for any bike that arrives there on a trailer. Same with car shows...if you don't drive it there, don't bother me with it. Daytona has become nothing more than the annual WHORE (We Haul Our Rides Everywhere) convention.

If you are a bike builder you want to take as many bikes as you can to both ride and show and hopefully sell at the show. the only feisible way to safely get them there is to trailer them.

I know, but that's another thing I have no respect for. I am not the least bit impressed by some guy who can afford to plunk down 40 grand for a bike that he'll barely ever ride. If you want to impress me, build the bike yourself, and ride the damn thing. As far as I'm concerned, Jesse James and the clowns at OCC are the worst things to happen to motorcycling. I'll take an old primer-grey, oil spewing Shovelhead over one of their useless billet barge yuppie machines any day of the week.

I wouldn't. But then I don't want a Jesse James or OCC bike. I want a Joe Martin or Rick Fairless bike, or a bike Indian Larry build before he died last year.

To each their own. I prefer substance over flash myself. Indian Larry made some decent stuff, but most of his stuff was more ridable and less flashy.

I'm more an old school person myself but I do like all the paint and colors and graphics that have come out. But there's still something to be said about the old "art" of motorcycle paint such as gold/silver leaf for example.

I wouldn't call what Frank and I are saying a dispute. If Frank and I were having a dispute it would be much more harsh and there would be a lot of cuss words and chairs thrown

Discussion, Daniel-san, not dispute. If it were a dispute, I'd be making of you for shaving your legs, still playing with toys, and thinking a Sunfire is cool...
