I can't even believe it

Really I just don't want to believe it

Growing up in Wyoming like I did, Chris LeDoux was the man. THE singing cowboy! Truley a sad day for me. Probably the best live show you would ever have seen if you were lucky enough to have seen it. I consider myself lucky.

From one Wyoming boy to another...you will be missed dearly.

Sail on Chris.
I was fortunate enough to see him in concert several years ago. After his surgery. He was still ridin' the bull. A great entertainer, a great songwriter, truly part of a dying breed.
I belive Mac is interviewed in his CMT Inside Fame. Called him the Jimmy Buffett of country music. He may not have gotten a lot of play on TV or Radio, but he was, is, and will always be in my CD player.

Wow, I really hate to hear that and hadn't heard anything about it until this thread. He was so down to earth and sincere.

creeky wrote:Mac is quoted in his bio on his website.
Mac and Alan Schulman produced Chris' last two albums, and Mac wrote some of the songs for them.

Nooooo!!! This one hurts. Chris was a great down-to-earth guy who would just as soon bust broncs than sing...but he could do either equally well!! Saw him many times in my neck of the woods, and in my opinion is right there with Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson, and George Strait.

I am so sad to hear this. He was a favorite of mine. He was a genuine singing cowboy. I have enjoyed his music so much and will sure miss him.

Damn. As soon as I saw this, I called a friend of mine up in Chicago who is also a big country music fan. And he put it better than I ever could have "another great entertainer has left." Chris LeDoux CDs and concerts were unlike anything else out there, and I for one, will really miss him.

Damn...His song about calling his wife and asking her if it would be okay for him to bring his old beat up cripple friend home was awesome...especially when his wife said there was too much work to be done to have a cripple around...and then it turns out he is the cripple...Sail on Chris...you are out of the stampede and sailing safely now.

...and Mac McAnally produced the
Cowboy cd with Slan Schulman in 2000 and it was recorded at La La Land.
Mac plays guitars on the cd, along with Doyle Grisham and Finger Taylor.
Cowboy is a great cd to add to your collection. It's some of his old stuff polished up.
