I've thought about doing that too, but a couple things came into play. First of all, Law School if wicked expensive and I need to save every where I can. Second, what would I do with all my jello shots? Third, I like to have a car there! Much more fun! Just my two cents, though.. Or would that be three cents?

There will already be 4 car loads of my friends in there so I figured to do that, do you think the private lots in business parking lots and peoples yards will be going early? Like 1 or 2?habourgirl wrote:I've thought about doing that too, but a couple things came into play. First of all, Law School if wicked expensive and I need to save every where I can. Newbie here...
I'm new to this board (It's great, by the way...you guys are riot!) and this will be my second Buffett concert, but only my first where I'm (a) the veteran..scary...and (b) the navigator. We're coming down from VT that morning, I've seen a couple posts here about off-site parking lots and paying for those. Why would you do that? Is there a chance of not being able to park on site? Is it just more expensive to pay at GW? I don't remember doing that the last time I went, but as I said that was a while ago and I was not the driver.
I am sooooo excited, but just trying to be sure I have all bases covered.
Thanks!! Bridget

Re: Newbie here...
I'm guessing people would choose to park off-site because it can take a few hours to get out of the parking lot at Great Woods after a show. It doesn't cost anything to park in the GW lots.Boojca wrote:I'm new to this board (It's great, by the way...you guys are riot!) and this will be my second Buffett concert, but only my first where I'm (a) the veteran..scary...and (b) the navigator. Phew!
Thank God...I knew I didn't remember paying, and we parked in the lot. I was starting to worry about my mind...
Same rules apply as at most places, right, no glass containers, etc....otherwise, fair game?

Ok people we need to get organized!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who plan on meeting early and tailgaiting as a group let me know.. I will work with the people who have done this in the past and will get the exact time and location to meet and will let everyone know.
As far as tailgating as a group.. Last year at Jones Beach it worked well.. everyone signed up for something (except beverages, you brought your own). We ended up having more then enough food to go around but we also had a list of who was bringing what... I plan on bringing a pasta salad and possibly something else. Are we interested in doing it this way?
As far as the rest of the tailgating goes..
I know BOR will have a bar.. (I hope sand too! my feet loved it last year!)
I will have about 4 chairs and the beer pong table..
Who's bringing the grill?
what is everyone else bringing?!?!
Also I'm in the process of putting together a cellphone list for this show.. if you want on PM me with your details. I will send the list out a few days before the show.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
See y'all in a few days!!

I came on to the board today hoping to see people taking a bus that needed some others to fill it. I've got 8 so we're probably just taking two cars.
Notes for other posters:
1. Limo area is really bad.
2. Bus area is really good.
3. VIP parking area is really bad. Just go for the normal free stuff if you want to have fun.
So psyched he's back at Tweeter. I skipped last year at Fenway, which was the first year I've missed since 93, most years taking in multiple shows.

First time at a Buffett show and first time at GW. I decided to go with the VIP parking because my love has arthritis and thought it would be a shorter walk back to the car after the show. The girl likes to dance so she'll probably be hurting a little toward to end.ErikD wrote:I came on to the board today hoping to see people taking a bus that needed some others to fill it. Is the VIP parking area a long way from where you all will be? Should we just park in the regular area? She has a handicapped parking sticker. Does that help us out ?
Just a newbie with sooo many questions.
After a weekend of Jell-O shot testing we're down to two recipes. Cherry banana with coconut rum and Watermelon with Cruzan dark. Any thoughts on which way to go? We would really like to continue testing next weekend so ideas would be most welcome.

Unless they have changed it in the last year the VIP parking is the fartherest lot away from the venue entrance.Liminone wrote:First time at a Buffett show and first time at GW.
