Long & lazy days in the lower Keys

Well I'm fresh back from just over a week in the lower Keys.
We stayed on Cudjoe Key only 20 miles from Key West.
This time we explored more of the Keys rather than just hit Key West everyday.
I finally found the No Name Pub on Big Pine Key and this place is awesome. There must be thousands of dollar bills hanging on the wall, I had to add a couple more.
Make sure you stop into Porkys on Marathon Key just before the Seven Mile Bridge. It's a great rustic looking place and there's a crusty old guy named Rocketman that plays a four string and sings Buffett etc.
We also took the train ride to Pidgeon Key (the island under the 7 Mile Bridge). It has very nice scenery and and some great info on Henry Flagler there too.
There are also some good public beaches on Marathon, Anne's Beach and Sombero Beach that we hit.
And while in Key West check out Pat Croce's Pirate Soul Museum, it was really good.
I did quite a bit of fishing and while I did not catch an awesome amount I did catch enough Mangrove Snapper from the dock to have a good fish fry.
We watched a couple of sunsets from kayaks which was different but awesome and very peaceful.
This was my sixth time down there but the first time I'd ever wore polarized sunglasses and WOW what a difference they make.
I know you don't need them but they cut the glare off of the water allowing you to see everything, even while driving over bridges. My son kept using them, calling them "magic glasses". Try them.
The place we stayed at the Tucker Inn Oceanside Cottages on Cudjoe Key is FINtastic, secluded, complete with pool, kayaks, a dock through the Mangroves, and is only yards from the ocean. Their site is www.tuckerinn.com
Not to mention we were there for eight days for only 700 bucks!!!
I sat outside at night with my guitar playing Buffett and other island songs, even writing one myself, "long and lazy days".
I know we did so much more but it's all a blur right now that I'm sure will hit me tomorrow while I'm back at work
