Help with New Orleans

Me and three guys are going to NEw Orleans. We are either going the second week of August or the first week of May. When would you recommend to go out of these two choices. The last time I went was the last weekend of July and it was very hot but it didnt matter because there were so many people partying.

Pros: Better Weather
Cons: Will there be a lot of people there partying? i cant imagine a lot of college kids there at this time

I think Jazz fest will actually be ending the weekend before, unfortunately

boy, I'm hoping you know more than me . .
but I always thought it was the last weekend of April, first weekend of May . .
at least that how it worked for many years . .
but hey, I've have certainly been wrong before . .
one thing, tho, you will probably have a very hard time getting a room for Jazzfest , they usually book WAY, WAY far in advance . .some even year to year . .

Jazz fest ends on Sunday May 1st. We are gonna go down the following weekend.

Yeah I know how hot it can be, I was there the last weekend of July.
Will there be a lot of people there in May? I know there was a lot there in July.

I've never been to Nawlins so I couldn't tell you. I have been to Bilouxi in the Summer. Thank goodness casinos have air conditioning.

There are always a lot of people in New Orleans, especially on weekends, especially on NON-rainy days. We
are talking about Bourbon St., right? Go to:
http://www.nola.com and check out everything. I can't wait to go back there.

I would definitely say go in May. August would be hot, hot, hot!!! Hope you have fun whenever you decide to go!!!

Haven't been to NO in August, but did spend three summers in Georgia and all I can say is, if NO is hotter than GA in the summer (and I think that it is) you'd be nuts to go in August! People won't be partying as much because they'll melt if they go outside.
