I know this may not make a lot of sense, but I don't like arrogant peole who think they can verbally abuse their classmates....

so I'm taking microbiology online because it's a requirement for dental hygiene school, and this guy gets on the discussion board and starts complaining about how poorly the class is structured, blaming the teacher. so the teacher responds.. he didnt design the class... and other students say their opinion on the matter, and this guy basically says that everyone in the class is stupid, based on the quiz averages we are all doing "not so great" he also complains that there is too much extranneous material from the websites we visit (websites from other colleges) that were written by "speudointellectuals" and that there is too much work that he can barely get a B, but microbiology is the easiest science class he has ever taken....
so I respond, trying to be polite, and say "hey this is getting out of line.. if you dont like online classes, dont take them... you dont HAVE to go to all the websites..." and hes like "sorry, dear, I am afraid you have missed my point"

Who the heck does this guy think he is???

That's a damn good question... Personally, I think it's because he's going to try and take over the phlock when JB finally decides to hang it up. In which case that would also be sad, but true...

Others may be better qualified to answer, but my observation is it exists because MANY Jimmy Buffett fans on BN enjoyed comparing Kenny Chesney's music to Jimmy Buffett, and MANY Jimmy Buffett fans were highly offended by the comparison. Many threads went on and on about the similaries or lack of similarities, and MANY people became riled up about it. I think someone may have said they would vomit or something if they ever saw Kenny's name on Buffett News again.

Then, one day, with no warning, our fearless leader, PH Jim, started a Kenny Chesney forum and moved all the threads that mentioned his name to this location. That way those of us who don't give darn one way or another could easily avoid the Kenny Chesney threads or those who love both Kenny and Jimmy could post to their hearts content about Kenny without being challenged. Maybe the ones who can't stand him have followed and continue to complain, although I don't know because I've never been to single Kenny post since the threads have been moved. I just hope this thread doesn't get hijacked by the KC lovers or haters now!

so it continues... I sent him a PM saying hey, this is really rediculous, and you have no right to insult everyone like that, basically told him is is coming off as an arrogant @ss. and he writes back saying I obviously haven't read any of his orginal posts on the subject and "Unlike you, I am not a C student and have no reason to be grateful for a C I get in any class."

(I have the highest grade in the class, and have never made anything lower than a B).. now this guy is directly attacking me... I am sooo p*** off I'm shaking.... the really sad thing about this is I am the youngest person in that class.. everyone is in their 30's and 40's.... so he is picking a fight with someone half his age, and being more of a child than I am...

As far as I know, only 1 person is better qualified to answer than you. But your hypothesis is exactly the same as mine.

And wencherina - even if you point out the err in this dude's ways, it seems apparent that he will not change his behavior, and any further discussion will only infuriate you more. It may be best to try to ignore him, and try to prevent him from ruining your experience.
