They also asked if I could ask people to be a little nicer to them, as it's not their fault. They were shocked that I didn't start freaking on them. More on that later - but....apparently they've been threatened with litigation and everything. Very uncool, as they're refunding everything. :-?

I have no clue what I'm going to do. Anyone with hotel recommendations, I'd appreciate it. Dunno if I'm going to make it, and I'm supposed to fly out at 11:57 tomorrow morning. :o

So sorry. Wish I could help you. Sending Phin power and good luck!

CBS, soo glad to see you can make it!! :D :D

MojosMama, have you tried Susie at www.keywestkey.com? She's supposedly a hotel booking agent who is paid by the hotels and is available to help displaced folks like you find a place to stay. Good luck!!

This should be interesting. Last year when I got to FLL and tried to check in for my flight to KW, I couldn't. The ticket agent told me my reservation had been cancelled. Nobody could tell me why, they just said it was cancelled. I just called to confirm my reservation for this year's flight and they couldn't find it, which is odd because I have a confirmation email with a confirmation #, an itinerary # and a seat #. After being on the phone for 25 minutes a customer service agent told me everything was fine and I shouldn't have any problem when I check in Wednesday. I told her I didn't think I would have any problems last year, but I did. If the same thing happens this year I may get arrested in the FLL airport.

I know this is late notice...but better late than never...

Attention MOTMers:

Before you depart for MOTM in KW...I just talked to our Margaritaville friends there about helping spread Christmas/holiday cheer to our troops stationed in Baghdad (Crash's group)...they'd love to help out so please consider the following:

On your way to the airport/KW pick up a couple boxes of Christmas/holiday cards and drop them off at the Margaritaville store in Key West. Margaritaville will have their employees and customers write personalized messages/greetings to the troops and send them off. With 3,500 troops to reach, Margaritaville can help us insure that each soldier will recieve at least one special message of thanks for their service. (And, the space those cards took up in you luggage can now be used for those KW souviniers! )

If you want to contribute but aren't attending MOTM or can't hand-deliver cards, please send cards ASAP to:

Margaritaville
500 Duval St.
Key West, FL 33040

(include a note indicating: Christmas cards for troops)

Same airline. They gave me a $50 coupon for giving me the shaft last year and it would have expired in November so I figured I'd give them another shot.

The worst part about it last year was they put me on standby on 3 flights and they found an available seat on the 4th flight. I saw Heather in the FLL airport that day. If Continental hadn't cancelled my original reservation we would have been on the same flight.

In about 35 hours, we'll be heading down the turnpike; driving to see the sunrise over the water; and trading off driving between MCO and EYW. (If the luggage gets handled properly and all. :D)
I'm about 30 away from the same!

Did ANYONE get any info from the Casa? The 800 number said my reservation's confirmed - but I don't know if I believe THAT. Called the Casa yesterday, they said they'd be calling people back yesterday. Still nothin'.

So, lemme get this straight - I have maybe no room, maybe no gas between Miami and KW, and probably no rental car to get BACK from KW - yet I'm still going...... :o :D :wench:

Good lord...........
Hey I have an extra bed.. If needed .. I got a two bed @ the Alantic Shores :D

Less than 24 hours! WHOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!
tease. :D Is it still a "no-go" on the Helper Elf costume? :D
Uhhh...I'm almost thinkin' the whole trip may be a no go. I paid for my room at the Casa in full months ago. Now I can't seem to get them to give me a refund in time for me to pay for my new room. :-?
hey!!! see above :D :D
