I got 8 but I have a group of 21 that want to go. I feel bad for them but I know that I am going. And yeah, it sold out quick. I was 12th in line and got no where near the front. The fourth person in line only got 2 and the fifth got 1. That was the end.

Does Verizon allow tailgating in the parking lot before the show starts???

If so, when do the gates open and do a lot of people show up early to participate?

Thanks

No they don't. Tailgating is usually at the campgrounds across the road.

There is a little tailgating, and I mean a little. Go to the campground for the party.

I may need to rethink our decision to skip Indy.

I just called Verizon to inquire about the camp ground fee and was told that they are going to allow tailgating in the parking lot for Jimmy Buffet only.

Its not a traditional camp site. It's a farmer’s field that he rents out for $20/day per person. He gives you a wrist band and you'll be kicked out by a rental cop if you’re caught without the wristband. It's most definitely worth the $20 though.

Any good party buses with room on them? I found another parrothead phriend crazy enough to come with me-so we're ditching the Chicago mess and heading for a REAL JB concert! Please tell me we are in for a great time.........I am an Alpine junkie and a Wrigley shut out.

Last year the deal for Indy was as follows:

Parking lot opens at 3 pm
No grills
No glass

It's a lot of fun!! I've taken on the awesome SOASOAPT responsibility :o :o , but will probably not get there until about 5 pm. As the date gets closer, we'll get more organized.

Hey everyone!
My wife just surprised me with tix to the Indy show for our 10 year wedding anniversary! After some "disheartening" discussion with my boss, here is the short of it:

I am an accountant, and basically my boss told me I should not have taken off during a busy close week, even though I told him that it was a SURPRISE gift from my wife. (He is obviously NOT a parrothead). Anyway, I got the two days off.

My wife and I have never been to Indy. We went to the Vegas show this year, but we have been to Vegas many times before, so we knew where to go, what to do, etc. We will be LOST in Indy! :o

We would appreciate any guidance, etc. for this trip. Where to go, what to do, who is meeting where, etc. Any helpers? :D

It's posts like the one above that make me glad there are other PH's where I work. I'm going to be there with a gang of about 16 people, most of whom haven't ever met, and a couple who don't really like each other. Be that as it may, if you see a red Jeep Cherokee with a dozen Corona boxes on the roof flying a big Jolly Roger, feel free to stop and say hi! I'll offer a beer, if we haven't already drunk it all.
...someplace farther south, where the water's warm, the drink's are cold, and I don't know the names of the players...

Crap, I forgot you wanted advice! Well, the CIP in Greenwood starts their tailgating at around 11am I believe. They are building a second CIP at 96th and I-69 but I am unsure whether it will be completed by the time of the concert. As for tailgating, no fires are allowed for grilling, however I always drink beer in bottles, never had a problem so far. If you want a good lawn spot, get through the gate early, blankets are allowed, chairs must be rented. Security usually checks purses, waistbands, and blankets, I have smuggled a digital camera in 3 times by hiding it in my pants, although they radomly wand people as well. Any further questions, just ask. I'll answer the best I can.

Well, my arm got twisted into going to this show- my little sister, who's stationed in Japan in the Air Force, is coming home (she actually changed her flight to make the show!), so we're going with our brother.

The Northside CiP will be open then, Bahama Llama will be playing and some band members have talked to them about joining them for a set. From everything I've heard, Jimmy flies to Chicago from the Indy shows.
