PHBeerman has roots in Manitouwadge? oooh, perhaps he's a closet Canuck... come on out of your closet: we are a friendly nation!
(And yes, Paul Anka grew up in my neighbourhood in Ottawa and went to the same high school my son attended much later.)
I've been to Manitoulin a time or two. Except for the chilly water, it's a very nice place. My happy memories might be coloured by the fact it was our first camping trip away from our toddlers, 30 years ago!
You young folks know different lyrics than I do! And I have a Canadian music collection THIS big!

I think he is a closet Canuck. But the ridicule of admitting it after all these years of denial would force him to leave BN.com. So he has to continue the charade to feel accepted. Easy psychology 101.
And hey tikitatas, we need a new lyric. Your up.

Surprisingly enough, Manitoulin Island probably hasn't changed much since you were last there. The towns are still very few and far between. They still do not have any "chain" businesses except for grocery stores, hardware stores and gas stations. Everything else is still "Ma & Pa" operated. It's such a great way of life.
I went up there for the first time in 1994. I've now been living in Toronto for the past 6 years and when I return for a visit,
nothing has changed. It's like time stands still!
As for the cold waters...I'm sure that the heat wave we've been having up here has really warmed up those waters this year!!! Do you realize it's been 43 degrees with the humidex?? That's 109.4 degrees farenheit!!! Brutal!

Fever...
or is that just the weather talking?
Yes, we have had very hot & humid weather, too!
Just trying to pretend I'm in the tropics.

It's not just the weather talking!!! I see your logic though!
My screen name has been Fever for awhile...I'm also on a Motorcycle forum.

At least you probably don't have the smog like we do! It's impossible to think you are in the tropics with the "brown haze" goin' on!
Here's a lyric guys:
If it weren't for your maturity
none of this would have happened
If you weren't so wise beyond your years
I would've been able to control myself
If it weren't for my attention
you wouldn't have been successful and
If it weren't for me
you would never have amounted to very much.

Alanis Morrissette
Hands Clean
Here I'm tied down homesick
And that old wind blows so freely
Why can't it take me along?
This goes back to 1971, snow . . .
Hum, m, m

My folks are Americans. Pops manages Canadian operations for his company. Right now my connection actually lives in Timmins. Hometown of Celine Dion II

I have exactly zero Canuckian in me. I have never been a lumberjack. a fur trader, nor a seal clubber.

Hey tikitatas, quick question as I am still somewhat new.
btt?
I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks and have no idea what it means.

I do. Troy got it covered. I was sleeping in.
