I actually heard the same thing from a friend who produces a show on Radio Margaritaville, but I hadnt seen anything else about until now. He is a pretty reliable source, so I would say it was true.

The biggest tell about that being an April Fools Joke is the fact that it claims he's retiring to play in Branson. I can't think of ANYPLACE he'd be less likely to make a permanent home...

Isnt the Now yer Squawkin CD, the United Kingdom release (by Recall Records) coming out on April 19? I think it might be a reference to that since Andy Williams is on there with JB. (BTW)I am sticking with the original versions!

And anyway... when has Jimmy ever said he was retiring? Never. So the reference to ... "I really mean it this time", is bologna!

I personally think he may scale back... but why would he quit totally? The man is a work alcoholic!
