First of all I'd like to say Welcome to Buffettnews, great to have you aboard. I'd also like to say you are absolutely right, kenny and Jimmy have no problems with eachother, it's just a few people on this board who have a problem with it. I also would like to say that if jimmy does read this... he would probably laugh hysterically at how some people get so upset over something that doesn't even bother him! I love both Kenny and Jimmy. I'd like to apologize for any negative impression you have gotten about this board as a aresult of a few "haters". This is really a great place and there is a lot of love here... so I hope you stick around!

I think Buffett fans have a problem with KC because he gets Popular and Critical praise for trying to do what Buffett has been NOT praised for over 35 years. They think (and this is somewhat accurate) that he's popular because of his looks, not his talent. That's not to say he isn't talented, but if he was ugly, would he have made it? Be honest.

I think he would have, he has some great music.... I don't think Kenny is all that good looking, he is lik 5 feet tall and bald?????? come on. I'm more attracted to Buffett then Kenny (but I also like older guys), and i'm 22. So I don't think Kenny only made it because of his looks. I genuinely like his music. But I respect everyones opinion, I don't mean any disrespect to anyoneCaptainP wrote:I think Buffett fans have a problem with KC because he gets Popular and Critical praise for trying to do what Buffett has been NOT praised for over 35 years. Why
For me, there is not any type of bad music except the ones that promote violence and division amongst people. Each has its place and folloeing.
What bothers me is the direspect towards an entertainer that has done no one any harm.
I am a member of the KCOFC and yes, this forum has been discussed. Not once was it aimed at JB but the vindictive fans who choose to denigrate someone they dont like.
KC and JB get along fine and if someone has such anger that they must demean someone that has never done anything to them, they need to get a reality check and put that anger where it belongs.
This is a big world with lots of different likes and dislikes. If anthing, that person that is putting down KC is a bad impression of what kind of fans that are devoted to JB.

It seems a lot of people are speaking for Jimmy. How does anyone know what Jimmy truey like or dislikes? I think Buffett is a businessman. He knows it's in his best Financial intrests to follow certain trends in the music business. I have no clue to who or what Jimmy really likes. I think it's a stretch to say that Jimmy would be ashamed of someone because they didn't care for KC or any other artists for that matter.

i think kenny would have made it despite his looks. when he first started singing, he wasn't much to look at. he was cute - but nothing like what he is now. still, when he first started, his songs were good. i think he realized that he needed to change his style to fit what would make him happy. he's a talented guy, and i don't think he should be criticized for doing what makes him happy.CaptainP wrote:I think Buffett fans have a problem with KC because he gets Popular and Critical praise for trying to do what Buffett has been NOT praised for over 35 years. You know the same can be said for Jimmy....ParrotheadGator wrote:I'm not much of a Kenny fan....granted, I haven't heard his new album, but his other stuff all sounds the same....some of it is alright...but if I here, "there goes my life" one more time, I just may smack somebody
I play a ton of Buffett at work and a coworker always jokes and says "what's this song about? being drunk on the beach again?"
I don't agree with it but I think the stereotype is funny.
