Chesney's just unauthenticated
I have to admit that i'm a little annoyed by kenny chesney's unheralded migration to the beach and beach music. personally i think he needs to stick to reminiscent love songs and mac macanally covers. also, being a young buffett fan, i can remember being laughed at for being such a huge parrothead during my teenage years, but now those people are loving it when kenny chesney does it unauthentically and not even one-tenth as well as jimmy does it.
anyone share my plight?

Authenticated? How do you, as an individual ,(and young) determine what is authentic about anything?Communicado wrote:I have to admit that i'm a little annoyed by kenny chesney's unheralded migration to the beach and beach music. personally i think he needs to stick to reminiscent love songs and mac macanally covers. also, being a young buffett fan, i can remember being laughed at for being such a huge parrothead during my teenage years, but now those people are loving it when kenny chesney does it unauthentically and not even one-tenth as well as jimmy does it.

You can go back to the "60"s and find Island music. Probably farther than that.
I dont believe any one has a patent on any kind of music. That is what makes it great.
Diversity, young person, is the spice of life.
We may have landed on the moon first but that doesnt make it ours.
It shines for all.
Look for the good in everything and you will stess a lot less.

oh well
i was kinda hopin' that some fellow parrotheads would feel the same way i do about chesney; i like a lot of his music, i just don't like it when someone rides someone else's coattails... i guess you could say buffett did the same thing, but chesney's attempt at the whole beach scene just seems too main stream and pop-ish for me.
by the way i'm not stressed about it, its just an observation

Chesney
Hard to define what a man thinks unless you can crawl in his head.
Both are musicians , both respect each other and most of all, both make great music.
To me, that is all that matters.

i think everyone in music looks up to someone else, and at some point and time they will try to emulate someone they look up to. it's not a bad thing... it just happens. and i don't think chesney is tryin' to be exactly like buffett... i love the beach, and i could live the island lifestyle even though i don't live on the beach. if i was a musician i would probably write about the beach as well. it's okay for more than one musician to do it!
love alwayz,

I share your plight, but be warned, badmouth KC here and you become hated by all. I say this from experience. Not that I care, I'd rather be disliked than to be easily impressed with very weak music such as KC.

?????????????????
More pity than dislike. Its too bad that some people cant be happy unless they are trying to upset other people.
BAYA and be negative all you like. Nothing to me. Not worth worrying about.
I am here for the music and the artists that do it. Not some whining wannabe.
I think both Kenny and Jimmy are great and that is what it is about.
Blessings,
Shadow

Welcome Chesney fans!!
I, like most parrotheads have no problem with Kenny or anyone else who does island inspired music.
In fact I've been listening to his newest cd quite a bit.
Pay no attention to Pirate Lookin' at 12.
Although it's hard to do since he only posts in the Kenny Chesney forum

First off, anyone that says I post only in the KC forum is an IDIOT!! I post in others as well, but the JB forum grows tiresome at times because it's always the same old rehashed topics. I post when I have something to contribute, not just to add another post to my total like many others. I also post in the off topic forum regularly as it is usually more interesting. It's simply amazing though, how many of you can handle the fact that there are differing opinions about Kenny Cheeseney.

BashingHadow
It isnt about a difference of opinion as to who we like or dislike.
It is a matter of bashing someone just for the pleasure of bashing.
I dont care for the Dixie Chicks but why should I try to demean them? That is the difference.
It is called respect. It would be unreal to expect everyone to like the same thing.
You may not like Kenny. I am a Kenny Fan. What do you think you are going to accomplish by bashing him?
You arent gonna change anyones mind and simply make your self look bigoted.
If you choose to do that, you are only hurting yourself. No one else.
As I said, your opinion isnt gonna change my world one bit so live it up.
Blessings,
Shadow

you only post in the KC forum about 50% of the time. And yes I did go to your profile and checked to be sure I knew what I was talking about and that didn't include the posts you made here last night that were deleted
