Jimmy will be playing in Manassas, VA Wednesday June 15, that's not exactly "in the area."

Okay folks...I have egg on my face...goes to show you what happens when you don't check JB's tour schedule on a week by week basis.

My apologies.

I guess the only open date for JB to play Jones Beach would be the Friday after Great Woods, June 24...and I think that would be doubtful.

I think if Jimmy's going to show up anywhere that Thursday it might be at Jerry Jeff Walker's show at BB King's club in Times Square.

The Talkhouse is out on the south fork of Long Island, just past East Hampton.

If you guys are going to make this show, you will want to have some place to stay midway out on LI...like in Hauppauge or thereabouts.

ok, a little help , LIPH. . we are taking that whole week for vaca, and was going to either come early in the week or stay the weekend. . plans include some road trip to the eastern coastline . . . just can't work out which would be better. now, with the NYC news, maybe we should fly into there and drive to Mohegan. . . or do the Hartford airport, then drive toward the coast. . .

I'm so confused . . .

Let me put it this way...last year when Mac appeared at the Talkhouse, Jimmy had virtually promised to show up, and due to some last minute family matters, had to bail at the last moment. I know this is true, because the Talkhouse had a table reserved for him (I saw this personally).

I really think that he will join Mac this year if reasonably possible to make amends for last year's no-show.

Sooo, I think you are probabily wrong thinking that he is going to haul into NYC on this particular night.

I really think LIPH is wrong here gals.

I'm sorry I cannot tell you exactly why I feel so strongly about this, but suffice it to say that I am very comfortable in my sources.

Your original post, which you have since edited, said you had it on good authority that Jimmy was playing somewhere in the area, I suppose "in the area" meant LI, that Wednesday. That's the day he's playing in Manassas, VA. If that information came from the same sources I don't know how you can be so comfortable relying on it.

First of all, I misquoted my source with the use of the term, "in the area." What my source was told was that Mac would be playing with Jimmy the night before and the night after the Talkhouse show. The "in the area" was wishful thinking on my part, and for this, I apologized.

However, I have the utmost confidence in my source. If you do not, please, by all means, go to the JJW Walker show in NYC. He puts on a great show; I've seen him once a year for the past five years. Just don't expect any surprises.

I'm not expecting any surprises, I bought my JJW tickets before Buffett even announced those June shows. But since I'll be working that day I'd rather go someplace I can walk to from my office instead of going home from NYC then driving 100 miles each way based on suspect information.

I second him on this. I saw it, too. I also overheard a conversation earlier in the afternoon between two people who were in a position to absolutely *know* Jimmy's plans for the evening, and they expected him to be there. There was no doubt that everyone involved, including Mac, expected Jimmy at the show that night. That having been said, and even though I was sitting with my feet propped on the stage, I was kind of glad Jimmy didn't show. I wanted to hear a full Mac show. :D :D

jimmy has a habit of getting distracted....

that's why tours are highly controlled events

IF IT'S NEAR THE HAMPTONS. THE BEST BET WOULD BE, TO TAKE A FERRY FROM NEW LONDON. DRIVING COULD TAKE YOU 4-5 HOURS WITH TRAFFIC.

No...Talkhouse shows are typically 90 minutes to 2 hours in length, and usually start close to on time. You'll be out of there by 10:30 at the latest. I've been to numerous Talkhouse shows, and it never differs.
