Alpine and Tinley out.

Post by Phinsup2! »

Well...I guess it is official. No Alpine or Tinley. Truly sad. I will get to a concert somewhere! My reason for this post is to find out if anyone else out there has the eery feeling that I do that this might be the last year? I hope to heck I am wrong, but there are so many differences in this year's tour that I find myself getting a bit nervous. :o

I do not believe that this is the last year. I do however, have that same eerie feeling that you are getting from this tour. I think part of it is that the set list is changing quite a bit. The first leg we were getting songs off A1A among others that are rarely played. This leg we've seen those subbed for some more commonly heard songs, but still, it seems like he's trying to toss it all in there. But as he said during the first show, he's tossing it all in there and seeing what comes out. Guess we will see. After finally hitting the top I don't think he's going to retire just yet, although it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen at some point in the near future. Right now I'm trying not to think about that (keyword: trying) and in the meantime just enjoy what is left as much as possible.

Agreed...Looking at this year's tour, everything is FAR from normal. One thing you could count on with certanity was a Saturday night show at Alpine. Now's he's not playing Alpine, but playing in Canada instead? WTF?? Why the changes in tour? Why changed what has always worked? Well, it's either only about money, or Jimmy playing stadiums and skipping traditional venues means one last big pop before sailing away. Hard to enjoy things, with no Alpine this year!! :( :(

Maybe Jimmy wants to spread the joy around a little more.

The man is 58 years old, I am just glad that he is still touring.
