Creepy childhood games

we've done violent ones, how bout the creepy ones.
Being a young kid in the 70's there were tons of these, and into high school.
Any kind of fortune telling thing was popular like Tarot, Ouija, etc.
We had seances and scared ourselves to death. Bloody Mary was mentioned on here recently, we did that alot. We would play games where we would try to make ourselves levitate, or where we would say we were light as a feather. We would give ourselves dead hands, and would make ourselves pass out. It really sounds sick. What the heck was wrong with us. My kids never do any of these games. I guess it's just not the popular thing now.

One person lays on the floor on their back. The rest of the people place two fingers under the person, kind of surrounding them. You do some kind of "thing" to relax them and then everyone says "light as a feather, stiff as a board"...you're supposed to help them levitate with very little guidance.

I think this is how I got dropped on my head as a child.

Oh my goodness...I remember that! Ya'll have good memories. I don't remember it until someone jogs my memory.

With dead hand you squeeze your wrist until you cut off your circulation, your hand gets cold and blue. Very stupid if you think about it and it's a wonder we didn't do permanent damage.
Yep I remember light as a feather. And we'd all stand around and say wow it really worked.

Where, exactly, are the fingers "placed"?

Everywhere. There's usually one person at the head, feet, sides...etc. Nothing perverted.

Wow, I did not know that you played that with your sisters. I must have missed that part! Man, that would be creepy! I, too, have never played doctor with my sister! Hey, we now have that in common - wait a minute, you never played doctor with my sister, have you?

I think only two people we know can answer that question.

Some kids in my neighborhood would do a weird thing:

Take 20-30 deep breaths really fast, then hold the last one.
Another kid would squeeze you really tight, like a bear-hug.
When they were released it was like they were drunk or stoned.
They would stumble around and giggle for a while.
(I guess it was costing them a few brain cells.)

I've seen this done except the person was sitting down, also saw it done on the old Letterman show on NBC with Jerry Garcia when the Grateful Dead were the musical guests one night. Bob Weir described as an "old parlor trick".

Also did the hyperventilating thing ('splains a lot), Ouja Board, etc. For some of these, there may be good reason why kids don't do 'em today. :D

Ouija Board was a favorite passtime of the creepy neighbors down the street....

But we used to set up haunted houses. Well more like haunted bathrooms or garages. Put out various bowls of funny feeling food.... like grapes (eyeballs) spagetti, (not sure what that was supposed to be) and raw eggs. Then blindfold some unsuspecting kid and make them touch all the stuff.

Something is being lost here tho...30+ years later it dosent sound quite as fun!
