"a restless daydream, thoughts of jail, dust clouds risin', tearin' down the trail, got our plans made to make a few bucks and buy a spread called RANCHO DELUXE".

That's how the disc starts and if you have never been out west in Montana this album will take you there. Visions of cattle-ropin' and horseback ridin'will fill your head and you'll be reminded of Tully Mars in "Take Another Road" as you listen to music. There are 6 instrumentals on the disc and they are excellent to drive to.
"Left Me With a Nail to Drive" and "Countin' the Cows Ev'ry Day" are both funny songs about infidelity and life on the prairie. The early recordings of "Livingston Saturday Night" and "Wonder Why You Ever Go Home" are also good renditions. While "Wonder Why You Ever..." is short it is still very good and makes you think that maybe this song was still a "work in progress", "Livingston Saturday Night" on the other hand is another one of those "obscene and nasty" tunes that some of those "pea-brained people back in the pea-brained palace" might cry out against. Jimmy did this "more risque" version at Jones Beach which can be found on a disc called "Cocktails at Sunrise".
This cd soundtrack not only has 13 great songs, but it also contains sound-bytes from the movie. And if that's not enough, there's a very informative fold-out about Jimmy, the movie, and the actors. Need more? You can also put the disc in your computer and watch part of the movie..among other things.
The only down side to this album is that it's less than a 1/2 hour long.

Found this cd at Best Buy in Cary, NC and bought it. It was the only copy they had. Couldn't wait for Christmas! Listened to it on the way home and couldn't wait for Ed to hear it.
