how many parrotheads will help me
hey calling jimmy buffet and all you parrotheads i want to know how many would be willing to try to put a stop to these "people" who gobble up tickets for jimmy buffet concerts and then sell them for prices such as 1,490.00. we can stop this if we all get together. i went on site at 10am for tickets when i finally got through they were sold out in 15 minutes. but i can now buy them from people who are ripping us and jimmy buffett off
for prices i can't afford. we can make this illegal if we ban together and if we can get buffett himself in on it i know we can do it. can anyone help me???????????? how many of you are like me ,true parrotheads and could not get tickets. lets make sure this stops so we can get tickets since we are true fans. can't wait for all the numbers to roll in!!! maybe it's a dream but hey where did buffett start!!!!

hey...if you can think of a way, let me know. i really doubt that even if everyone on the board got together to petition or whatever, that it would even make a dent on the power that the scalpers and ticketmaster have. monopolies s***, and i personally think that there is nothing that can be done about it. As a side note, i may just be lucky, but i have been to many buffett shows all over the country, and only once was i unable to get my tickets beforehand for face value. the other time i payed 10 extra bucks.

one way to stop it is, let them ( scalpers) buy the tickets, but we the fans don't buy from them. 2 things will happen prices will drop or they won't buy the tickets knowing the fans aren't going to buy from them. but the problem is there is always a buyer. if everyone stopped buying from them it would turn the tables.sd parrot head wrote:U2 is tring to stop the same bull ----. They have people calling , e-mailing etc... the scalpers and then prosecuting. If you burn one person at a time, the scalpers will be afraid to sell.

I heard on the radio last week that Bruce Springsteen is trying to help his fans avoid scalper prices. Right now it's just for the good seats in the front section, but if it works well it may expand.
The tickets for good seats are not sent to you before the show. You have to pick them up at the ticket window the day of, presenting the credit card used to purchase and a gov't photo id. You then get your ticket and a wristband. To get to your seat you must present your ticket and the intact wristband.
Sounds to me like it'll either be a really good thing or a really bad thing - no middle ground. Wonder which it'll be.

Fair enough. And while it's very funny, it's also a wee bit disturbing.Tiki Bar wrote:It's going to be my standard reply for a while!blackjack wrote:Now Tiki, I just saw you using that same post on another thread...Tiki Bar wrote:I can't take it anymore!!!!!!

Re: spelling
Don't take it personal. It's almost like a rite of passage for many Newbies. I can almost guarantee you won't misspell it again. And, really, welcome to the board.ocracoker wrote:hey thanks for correcting my bad spelling sometimes i type terribly!!!!!!!
