Looks like it was a good idea to get out of St. Louis.

Jimmy doesn't play there anymore anyway.

Nope, that's in NY I believe. I'm pretty sure that factory has twice as many people as my town.

No idea where those are made. Thanks for reminding me that I need to go bow shopping one of these days, though.

Nothing really. It's just like 15 years old, and I'm not entirely confident on how long the limbs will last - especially in cold weather. Besides, those new super-light, 85% let-off bows are SOOOOO nice.

85% would be nice. But Illegal here.

Really? I've never heard of let-off restrictions. I've seen states ban compounds all together in what they call a "primitive arms" season. They usually only allow longbows, recurves, and flintlocks.
Archery — Archery Equipment
In any hunt, including general any-weapon seasons
and short-range hunts, it is unlawful to pursue or kill big
game animals:
• With arrows or bolts having broadheads measuring
less than 7/8 inch in width and having a primary
cutting edge less than 0.015 inch thick.
• With any bow having a peak draw weight of less than
40 pounds up to or at a draw of 28 inches.
• With an arrow wherein the broadhead does not
precede shaft and nock.
• With any chemicals or explosives attached to the
arrow or bolt.
• With arrows or bolts having expanding broadheads.
• With arrows or bolts having barbed broadheads. A
barbed broadhead is a broadhead that has any portion
of the broadhead forming an angle less than 90
degrees with the shaft or ferrule.
• With any electronic or tritium-powered device attached
to an arrow or bow.
• With any bow capable of shooting more than one
arrow at a time.
With any compound bow set at more than 65% let-off.
• With an arrow or bolt, and broadhead with a combined
total weight of less than 400 grains.
• With an arrow less than 12 inches from broadhead to
nock inclusive.
We are expected to be a little tougher out here.

Wow. Interesting. Any idea how they measure that in the field?

My guess would be with scales.

This is the bow I shoot. I love it.

Very nice. Bear sure has come a long way from the days of the Whitetail II (my 1st bow).

It's been so long since I've been in the market, I don't even know what is available out there. I have seen/shot a few Hoyt models which I really liked. One nice thing about having a Cabela's store closeby is they have an indoor range where you can shoot any bow you want, and their archery staff seems to know their stuff.

Bad part is I shoot left-handed, so that severely limits my choices of in-stock bows.

I still have my Whitetail II in my garage. I almost threw it out last weekend, but couldn't do it.
