I know he called it a "road song" (whatever that means) while being interviewed on RM on the eve of LTCs release.

Good song. My thought was a guy on the road (bus) traveling around and reflecting on a relationship that just hasn't worked out.

It's subjective interpretation is what makes the song so interesting.
