He was among the first artists signed to Buffett's Margaritaville label and he's toured with Buffett. Though it's never been officially released Todd also cut a punk rock version of Margaritaville.

Much like John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Keith Sykes, and Billy Joe Shaver he continues to be a mentor to Todd Snider.

Mike Utley also produced Todds first two releases.

Keith Sykes"discovered" Todd and turned Buffett on to him.
