I know it's on an album, just not sure which one. Too tired to go do some more positive research for you. CD's aren't right here.

The version on YHTBT is live. YHTBT is Jimmy's first live album. Really good stuff on there. You can tell he's still young and wild!

The verse was most likely cut to keep the song at around 3.5 minutes, making it more radio-friendly as most long songs don't get as much radio play. Although I'm not sure why he didn't have the long version on the CILCIA LP and just have a radio-edit single... one of life's great mysteries.

I always looked at it like that was the bonus, kinda like singing both "The Star Spangled Banner" AND "Oh Canada" at Blue Jays game. :)

I like the lost verse verson myself and usually listen to TT&S for that reason. (That and Love and Luck!) I also have a verson in which he sings a couple of verses and the chorus in Spanish. I don't understand it but I love it!
"Mommy, when is Jimmy Buffett coming to OUR house? We go see him ALL THE TIME??" (Actual quote from my 5 y/o keet)

I believe that is off the CD that came with M'ville tequila a couple years ago.

I really like the version from NY Central Park '77 which includes the "lost verse" and this verse

I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top,
I cut my heel had to cruise on
back home,
God I still feel pain,
Wish I had some cocaine
But that's been gone since early this morn

I never really thought the lost verse fit the rest of the song.

The song is about denial and then self-realization told in the first person, I. That lost verse talks about old men in tank tops. It seems removed from the topic. jmho
