a buddy of mine sent me a copy of some his stuff and he is pretty good. His lyrics are similar to jimmy's take away the carribean and tropical stuff. I heard he has a quite a following too bad i just heard of him in the past month.

I think that he is one of the greatest songwriters ever.
He has a new album available this week, I think that
it can also be downloaded from the iTunes Music Store

This probably belongs in the related artists section.

John Prine is awesome. He's got a ton of stuff and there's not much of it I don't like.

What album did he start you off on?
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

Mixture of stuff from a lot of his albums 16 songs in all. My favorite so far is You Got Gold. My friend was shocked to find out I had never heard of him before. Now the cd is in my car :D

Didn't he co-write "You Got Gold" with Keith Sykes?

Hasn't everyone?!? John Prine is great. I saw him a couple years ago with Todd Snyder. And a few years before that he was touring solo which was a great show.

I have been a fan of John Prine since we were both young. I was recently able to make a trade for some bootleg concert CDs, very good stuff!
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now!

Listening to it right now. Got it for $9.99 at Media Play. I'm glad he included "Taking A Walk". Heard that one live for years. Enjoying it.
