“OH I BELIEVE IN SONG LINES OBVIOUS AND NOT,
I'D RIDDEN THEM LIKE CAMELS TO SOME MOST PECULIAR SPOTS”
Jimmy Buffett – Far Side of the World

I'm sure this has been done before, but I thought it would be phun and
enlightening to share favorite song lines Buffett or not.

I have dozens, but here is one of my fav’s…

“TAKE IT ALL IN IT'S AS BIG AS IT SEEMS,
COUNT ALL YOUR BLESSINGS, REMEMBER YOUR DREAMS”

I'll mention two:

I've got a Caribbean soul I can barely control....

That's cause everyone here is just more than contented to be livin and die'n in three quarter time.

OK, one more, Things are better off than I had feared.

"Lookin' back at my background tryin' to figure out how I ever got here..."

"Lust for the future, but treasure the past"

"Find yourself a lover who will glue you to the floor"

From Margaritaville on YHTBT:
"God I still feel pain...." I probably better not finish that since this is a family board. :-?

Piece of Work:
"With a filthy mind and a choirboy's face" 8)

He truly does have some of the best song lines, but some of my favorites are the actual song titles (choruses):

If the Phone Doesn't Ring, It's Me
The Weather is Here, I Wish You Were Beautiful
We Are The People Our Parents Warned Us About
You Call It Jogging, I Call It Running Around

I'm gonna teach him how to cuss, teach him how to fuss and pull the cork out of a bottle of wine

it was too much tequila or not quite enough

His lawyers are calling his parents, his girlfriend doesn't know what to think, he's just singing and ordering drinks

Anything from Floridays....On the corner of walk and don't walk was already mentioned

women and water are in short supply
theres not enough dope for us all to get high

Well, like to explain to you all before,
I ain't no drinkin' man
I tried it once and it got me highly irregular
And I swore I'd never do it again

"'Cause I want to be there,
I want to go back down and lie beside the sea there.
With a tin cup for a chalice
Fill it up with good red wine,
And I'm-a chewin' on a honeysuckle vine. "

"We've gotta roll with the punches
Learn to play all of our hunches
Makin' the best of whatever comes your way
Forget that blind ambition
And learn to trust your intuition
Plowin' straight ahead come what may."

"Be good and you will be lonesome, be lonesome and you will be free."

"If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane."

"I spent all of the money I saved.. Still did not get over you."

"I'd like to be a jellyfish, cause jellyfish don't pay rent."

"Sunset is an angle weeping, holding out a bloody sword"

Gosh I could go on forever, Ill stop there though.!!

There may be no exit, but hell I'm goin' in!

I drink a lot of whiskey, it gives me such a glow
It makes me quite immobile, but it lets my feelings show

But I couldn't fit the part too dumb or too smart
ain't it funny how we all turn out
I guess we are the people our parent's warned us about

His lawyers are calling his parents
His girlfriend doesn't know what to think
His partners are studying their options
He's just singing and ordering drinks

My 2 favs happen to come from the same song... I can listen to these lyrics a million times and I still love 'em...

'We sail from the port of indecision,
Young and wild with oh so much to learn.
Days turn into years as we try to fool our fears,
But to the port of indecision I return.'

'Love is a wave building to a crescendo
Ride if you will, ride it with me.'
