Matt and I go round and round and round with quitting all the freakin' time. The patch works really well for me, but I am sooooooo orally fixated it's just not even funny.

Thanks Dude.

thanks for the link, I bought them at an Indian Smoke Shop in Oklahoma and have no idea where to get them here in Georgia.

The nicotine free do not replace the nicotine craving in any way, but relieves the psychological need for somthing to hold and also that nasty stuff nicotine does to your throat. They are in no way habit forming, and I seldom ever touch them unless I'm in a bar or having a drink, and often forget take them with me.

The first six months seems to be the most critical and it was something that my desire to quit was stronger than the desire I felt for a cigarette..

Nicotine addiction is a very nasty and strong addiction. You can use the 12 step for cocaine, drugs, and alcohol, but not nicotine.

That's what I need them for... Especially when I drink I just chain smoke.. Now obviously if I just had a cig 5 minutes ago I'm not actually craving one, I just feel like having one.. My hope is that the patch will take care of the physical craving and the Quests will take care of the psychological. They say you can't smoke while on the patch, but I think that's just because you will take in too much nicotine, but I assume it's okay to smoke the nicotine free smokes... Does that sound like good logic?

It is yes, Shane..and the first two weeks on the patch..when I felt like I simply could NOT go without nicotine...I slapped on another patch...I figured that another hit from the patch was not as bad a having a cigarette..

and that's what worked for me...I used the 15 mg. patch up pretty fast. I think they last 24 hrs. and was known to have one that was almost ready to come off, one that had been in 12 hrs...and another one that I had just slapped on...a neighbor with a 3 pack a day habit gave me that advise..and it worked for me also...

and they did itch when I first put them on...I just scratched and went on...no major allergy to the patch...just a little itchy sometimes..

Anything that will keep you from inhaling that nicotine is better than inhaling it. Some days I thought I would spit up blood if I didn't get some nicotine, but...it does pass..

I did it..and I'm pretty proud of myself for doing it...that sounds very egotistical, I know, but it was not easy to do...

Hang in there buddy !!!

I'm a little curious about the smokeless/herbal cigarette and if anyone has tried it or had success in quitting this way?
