For any questions about the equipment, hardware, and what models are best as far as Sirius goes, you can go over to
www.siriusbackstage.com and check out the forums for lots of info. This is the big Sirius fan site that has all kinds of information about the service and a large discussion/forum area with forums about the programming, equipment, installations, and many other topics. You'll find great descriptions and reviews and comments on all the different Sirius models. I've had Sirius for over 2 1/2 years and couldn't be happier. Now that Jimmy is on board, I'm in heaven. But anyway, since I post on both sites, I just wanted to invite everyone here at Buffettnews.com to check out

Well I guess that's your own opinion, but to each his own. I've had Sirius for over 2 and a half years now and I couldn't be more pleased. I had XM for their first year and I hated it because they're playlists were all over the place and very unfamiliar. So personally, I LOVE Sirius and have been nothing but pleased with their content. However, I don't reccomend XM at all and do not like their programming nearly as well as Sirius. So I'm very glad that Jimmy chose Sirius. Buffett and Sirius are two of my favorite pasttimes and topics, so I am VERY happy!!

Eh... I'm just upset cause I got XM for Opie & Anthony and now Buffett's on Sirius.. Although I have heard that Sirius doesn't have anything even close to XM's MyFi for portability and the rest of their technology is pretty far behind XM.

Sirius has a portable coming out next month that is similar to the Myfi. It will be able to be used for live listening as well as recording and storing up to 4 hours of Sirius programming, and will also feature a transflash card that will allow the device to work as an MP3 player as well. It's called the "ReGo" and is from XAct. You can go to
www.getxact.com and see the details on this new radio. From what I've read in several places it is supposed to come out in mid June around fathers day.

Elsewhere in the forum, someone posted a link to a press release in which is say that RM will still be available at it's normal RM web site also. THe press release also said that Sirius was adding "a Radio Margaritaville channel. By the use of "a" I took it that it's not necessary the exact same channel as online. I'm thinking it will be more like the current Vacation channel, but with more Buffett and his concerts. RM programs like Dead hour, etc. might not be on this channel.

From what Sirius is saying on their home page, it sounds like RM will be the same as it is on the net. It talks about him launching RM and Jimmy talks about it as well. i'm willing to bet it will be the same. I think it would be cheaper for Sirius to just stream it, rather than alter it and make their own station.
By the way, I think I'm going to get Sirius now. It would be great on my long trips back and forth from school, from work, and in my boat. What kind of plans does everyone have. I'm thinking of just getting the 1 year and saving 12.95. What would you guys recommend?

But I wonder...didn't it say that the new RM would broadcast primarily from the Orlando M'ville as well as the other M'villes from time to time. Isn't the current RM broadcast out of Tampa or something? (I know it's not Orlando). Or maybe this deal will allow them to upgrade the whole deal and consolidate in Orlando.

I've been listening to the Vacation channel a lot lately and they play A TON of old Buffett stuff. I love it. Can't wait for RM
