Howard Stern and Jimmy Buffett

This morning on Howard Stern's radio show, he had some very complimentary things to say about Jimmy Buffett. Stern, who in the past has made rude comments about Jimmy, commented today that Jimmy was "very cool" and "a nice guy" when Stern met him yesterday at the Sirius headquarters. Jimmy even set up his meeting time so that he could meet Stern before his meeting with Sirius executives. Stern admitted that he doesn't get the parrothead thing, but said he wanted a cool name for his Sirius station, like Radio Margaritaville.

I heard that this morning. I was surprised Howard didn't rip on Jimmy for some reason. He seemed complimentary about how much money he is worth.

Whoa... $500

I guess that's about the same as 5 years worth of service. However, I can only imagine what the next medium will be in 5 years.

I was surprised too. The last time I heard Howard talk about Jimmy he was ripping into Jimmy and Parrotheads pretty good but still love him anyway.

Maybe it is time Jimmy retired if he is making a point to make time for a nobody like Howard Stern. He has truly hit rock bottom now...lol

Nah, Jimmy's just smart; he realizes he and Howard are now playing for the same team so JB took the initiative to reach out and say "hello". What did it get him? Some positive comments, signs of respect and admiration from a high-power player (Stern) who has previously dissed Jimmy. Jimmy uses his good people skills very well.

This is from HowardStern.com as part of the recap of today's show...
"NAME THAT CHANNEL
During today's news Robin mentioned that Jimmy Buffet is getting his own channel at SIRIUS called "Radio Margaritaville". Howard said he saw Buffet when he was up there recently but the SIRIUS people asked him not to say anything until they made their announcement. Howard said that it's cool that Buffet named his channel and wondered if he should name his channel. Robin suggested simply "The Howard Stern Channel" but Howard wanted to kick around more ideas. He threw out "Gravitas", "Hey Now" and "Bukkake" among others. Robin didn't seem thrilled with the "Bukkake" one. So Howard suggested "Radio Gash" which Robin found pretty funny. "
At least they were consistent, consistently wrong, but consistent.

This recap is typed by some lackey named Jason on the Stern staff.

Howard Stern is a waste of flesh who has no redeeming qualities. (I didn't want to disappoint anyone who was waiting for a comment from me.)
