As mentioned previously, we are in the infancy stages of planning a private party. Considering the entertainment for the party is Jimmy Buffett, and the guest list will not be enough to fill a stadium venue, we need to select a location for the event that is easily accessable to all.

That said...where are you? Please select the region closest to WHERE YOU LIVE...not where you would want the party to be.

This is going to be a very tough one because we have BN'ers from all over.... I think location will be the toughest part about this event, and unfortunately no matter what it will be placed in an area hard for some people to get to.

As long as he will do a "private concert" for just BNers I will travel to that detination. I live in NC but think Florida would fit the ocassion perfectly! I do not know how other BNers feel about that, especially if they live way up north.

I think were going to find that most of the people are east coasters. I do not have a problem traveling, but I think we should not go to far west.

The important thing would be close proximity to a major airport. Sadly, this leaves out the obvious choice of Key West. :(

nawlins is not a bad idea... I don't know if I'm allowed back there after my antics last year when I spent a weekend on Bourbon Street

It's like Vegas, what happens there stays there. Luckily I've been there too :D

Probably be important how far JB would have to travel, too.

Which leaves NY and FL high on the list, depending on the season.

Right, less travel for him, the less it costs us.

Why don't we have it at his house then! Wouldn't cost us anything for him to travel! :P

I think we will be limited in choice based on the venue that will be most likely to help us keep the overhead costs down. If we get the right charity (powerful) on our side, some venues might be willing to donate a portion of the expense of such a venture.

These are the times that we really miss Bill Graham. This was the type of thing he loved to do, and he could have pulled off an East Coast, West Coast, and Midwest show. Bill worked for the fans, knowing that they were the key to the success of a band. His shows went out of the way to make sure the fans were satisfied. That is why ticketmaster was for the most part kept out of the San Francisco market until after his passing. WE NEED BILL GRAHAM.

Yeah, it would be great publicity for them, and if we get past HK, then that would be the first order of business, to find a venue that could make this happen.
