If you had bought $1,000 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth about $49.00
If you had bought Enron, you would have $16.50 of your original $1,000.
If you had bought WorldCom you would have less than $50.00 left of your original investment.
If you had bought $1,000 worth of Budweiser beer – not the stock – one year ago, drank all the beer and then returned the cans for the $0.05 deposit you would have $107.00.
Based on this information, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
My financial philosophy... When the going gets tough take your clothes off and have a beer!
I know this is an old one, but i just came across it again

Or, if you live in Michigan, you'd have $214.00. (They get .10 cents per can/bottle).FinzEast wrote:If you had bought $1,000 worth of Budweiser beer – not the stock – one year ago, drank all the beer and then returned the cans for the $0.05 deposit you would have $107.00.
SO let's go to Michigan and drink.

The math doesn't work here...
If you get .05 for each can and got $107.00, you'd have to return 2140 cans of beer. Now, divide $1000 by an average of $4.99 a six pack, and you get 200 six packs times 6 equals 1200 cans of beer times .05 equals only $60...
Crap...just lost another $47...
Unless they were using the 18 packs that sell for around $13.99...then...
Guess I'm putting too much thought in to this...
